Default Kubs could be amazing for us

I loved him before he was hired, and I'll admit after a few weeks that I was very down on him. Especially after the loss to the Redskins. But after the last few weeks, and after reading and watching his relationship with Carr develop, I'll be the first to admit that this guy has what it takes.

Kubiak is a dedicated coach. VERY dedicated. He has problems with Carr, with the rest of the team, but he knows how to fix them and is working tirelessly to do just that. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read the post with Megan's article regarding his feet. Kubiak sees the problems, and knows exactly how to fix them.

Do I think he is flawless? No. Could he have won more games by starting Sage in game 1? Maybe... Is he too conservative at times? Maybe.

But the point is, he is in it for the long haul. He sees potential, he sees problems, and he works to FIX the problems. Capers would get around them, but I really feel Kubiak is trying to fix them.

Its an optimistic time to be a Texans fan. For the first time ever, I'm actually not dreading the thought of the following statement, "Just wait until 2007" because I think it'll actually mean something.

Kubs is a good coach I just wish he would take more chances sometimes he has a defense that is playing alot better and I think he can take more chances I really feel that the team is coming together for the first time.

I truly believe that Kubiak will turn this team around and have us winning by next year. Give him another draft/off-season (with his GM this time), the returning players know what to expect and have a year of experience in his system, and we'll be competing in every game next year.

I see fundamental changes in the attitude of this team. There are no guarantees, no favorites, no golden boys. They are now each accountable for their responsibilities, and this starts with the head coach.

2007 is going to be a loooooooong off-season...but it will result in a season like we've never seen in Texansland.

You just can't listen to him, read his quotes, or watch him on TV without feeling incredibly excited. Theres something about his humble, take charge, take responsibility attitude that is electrifying

For awhile I thought he was very reserve on his playcalling. But, I'm starting to figure out that he's call the wrong plays for OUR team. Meaning they would work on a better team not the Texans at this point.

The word "amazing" in ancient texts actually is just a direct translation of the name Chad Stanley. Ask PD.

I agree with DB and bah007, Kubiak is exactly what we needed.

I still don't know how an NFL team pays punters for 35-yard punts.

I'll go on record right now to say that the NFL should look very seirously at just banning or doing away with the "punt" itself. I say, tee it up and let the kicker kick it like he does on a regular kickoff.

Punting is the real reason that Al Qaida flew planes into the towers. They'll say it was to try and curb the world's economy...but they were sick and tired of 35-yard punts.

If you are talking about the TE calls, you're right: The Texans have NEVER called the TE's number as many times as Kubiak has already in his first season.

Anyone who knows anything about the Shanahan/Kubiak style of offense understands that the TE is a very integral aspect of the plan.

Already we are seeing Owen Daniels eating up defenses on a regular basis.

I would say that the more we eat up defenses with the TE, the more you'll see some more "action-packed" playcalling that plays off of the defense trying to cover the TE.

But you CAN'T do the fun stuff unless a defense believes you can do the ordinary stuff. (That sounded like a John Madden'ism, didn't it?)

I hear you. I would like to see our guys get the training wheels off, but Kubiak is the daddy and he decides when to let those guys go crazy. I would say that the end of this seaos or even next season we will see a more diversified set of plays and playcalling.

The instructions to move his feet come from his head. That's the problem. Vince Young throws a ball to his receiver and bangs his hand on the opposing DE's helmet. He hurts his hand but that was not even a consideration when making the throw. I hate to say it but DC gets in that tight of a space and he's clutching and getting ready to go down. It's mental with this guy. His first four years have conditioned him to avoid pain rather than complete the play. My

The reason Stanley gets paid is because he is one of the best punters in the league in sticking a team inside their 20. That is why we signed him.

The problem is that every time we are forced to punt it is from inside our own 30 which makes his abilities useless.

If we have another draft like last year's draft, we're going to dominate the league.

It won't even be funny.

Uh... well... yes it will.
