Stoops trying to be a genius when he could punt the ball away to the A&M 20 and give them 1:00 to try to move the ball with their stymied passing attack.
Franchione thinking it's the 2005 clock rules and kicking the field goal and giving the ball back to OU with 3:00 left. These guys had it backwards... it was 4 down, score a TD territory for A&M and 3 runs and a punt territory for OU. |

Yea but Aggy had a 4th & 8.
They werent gonna run for 8 on one play & they sure as heck werent gonna pass for 8. Absolutely NO passing game for Aggy. They shoulda been running once they got inside the 25 but they started passing & couldnt move the ball. Give credit to Stoops. He has guts. |

If Lane is such a beast why does Fran only give him the ball 13 times. Ridiculous.
He should be wearing down the D with Lane & then throw in Goodson for a big play. Lane: 13 touches, 62 yds - 4.8 avg Goodson: 12 touches (2 rec), 136 yds (7 rec)- 11.3 avg McGee: 31 touches (19 pass, 12 rush), 105 yds (61 pass, 44 rush), INT - 3.4 avg (pathetic for a QB) The two stud RBs should be getting the ball way more than that. |

Right, not sure if the miscalculation was on 4th or the preceding downs, but that was 4 down territory. With the strenght of the OU running game and the weakness of the A&M passing game, trying to get the ball back and score twice made no sense.
Stoops has guts, but that was a bad decision... just seems like a risk not worth taking. I don't think going all in on 4th down makes much sense when you're winning. McGee couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and they had a minute left. 99/100 coaches punt there. But Stoops is Stoops. |

What kind of message would he be sending his O if he didnt think they could get 1 inch? I hate Stoops (Im a UT fan) but I think he made the right call. They have like a 90% of getting that 1 inch, & they prob have a 89.9% of keeping A&M out of field goal range. |

I put that game on Fran.
If not him, then whoever called the plays at the end of the game. If you have 60 passing yds & 220 rush yds then there is no reason that you should throw the ball in crunch time. They had plenty of time to run on every play & still get in the endzone. |

It's on Fran he has final say on the play. I just do not see why if you are inside the 5 and it is third down you do not try to run the ball twice with Lane instead he decides to pass. OU could think lane was going to get the ball all they wanted I like his chances, really since their was no wideouts open all game why try to pass near the endzone. If the Aggies lose their next two games anybody think Fran will be back giving his record against OU, UT an Nebraska.

My outsiders perspective:
Either Fran needs to go, or your OC needs to go. I think both need to go, but IDK if you would do that. McGee is not McNeil and he is not made for this offense. He is even more of a pocket passer than McCoy. He was recruited because he can throw the football, let him throw. The offense of ATM sucks, but this loss is on Fran.

They might have a shot against Nebraska (its a home game right?). I thought he shoulda been fired last year but who knows? You have to play to your strengths & Fran just doesnt know how to do that. |

But they lead the Big 12 in rushing (214 per game), are 4th with 431 total yds per game, & average 33 points per game. |

I was on the sidelines for the game.
Fran lost his job tonight. He called for a passing play on the 3rd and 2 at the goal, which turned out to be overthrown by McGee (who was playing terrible tonight). 4th and 2 comes up and BAM..... a FG in the 4th quarter when we are behind more than 3. He could have given it to Jorvorskie Lane any time on those two plays and we would be talking about how great the win was for the Aggies. If you play conservatively and fail, you will lose your job eventually. He really needs to figure something out. We have so much talent on the team but they are nothing without a coaching staff that can be a little risky sometimes. P.S. - I was about 20 feet from Lee Corso for the entirety of the game. We were not very happy with him today.

This offense was built for next season or the season after. Next year: McGee will be a Jr. Lane will be a Jr. Goodson will be a Soph. Bennett will be a Jr. Fran still needs to go tho. He is holding this team back. I fully expect A&M's rushing attack to be scary next year. Not scary enough to beat my Longhorns, but good enough to beat OU maybe. |

Was at the game tonight. A couple of notes. One: In the entire first half we did not pass on first down the entire time. Two: Fran finally decides to mix it up a little more in the second half, but uh oh, McGee just isn't on giving Fran no time to make any adjustments as we are already behind. Numerous times McGee had time to throw the ball down field and he showed a total lack of composure. I am very disappointed with McGee. Three: Were were down by4, could go up by three with a TD, and what does Fran do, after McGee had been goofing off the hole game and rattled everytime Oklahoma blitzed, Fran decides to pass!!!!! He is a complete *****. I'm sorry, but I am a long time A&M fan and am sad to say, I hope we lose the next two days just so I don't have to watch my team get coached by that conservative loser Dennis Franchione. YOU DON'T PASS ON 3RD AND 2!!!! Sorry I'm just really ticked. We had the game won. Mike Goodson, our freshman running back, looked awesome and our future looks so bright. And Fran's playcalling blew it. I want him gone...

Also, I must give props to A&M defense. Oklahoma ran all over us in the first half, yet in the second half, they couldn't do anything. Chris Harrington looked like a stud and a guy I would love to see in a Texans uniform. He plays as hard as any guy I've ever seen, is quick, strong, agile, and gets to the quarterback. Justin Warren also looked great and I definitely believe the Texans should pay attention to him. Other than the costly 8 yard run our D gave up towards the end of the game, they did spectacular. Coach Fran lost this game for us. All we needed was that one touchdown. And he settled for a field goal.....

He's had success everywhere else...that's what i don't get. I just think the move to A&M has him dumbed down some.

Was it because he was obnoxious or because he chose the Sooners?
