..from Sage cost us this game. If he was even HALF the QB people on here think he is, then he would of won that game. Fact is, he lost it on his own - pure and simple.
1. His INT was ridiculous. He threw into double coverage and the ball was behind the receiver. 2. Poor clock management on his part lead to us not having enough time to engineer a final drive. Several times he let precious time slip off the clock - time which we could've used at the end of the game. Nice one Sage! 3. Most of his throws were behind the receiver requiring acrobatic catches and preventing them from gaining more YAC. Next time out those bad passes will result in INTs. 4. We can't count his TD's because they were in garbage time and the Thumbtacks were in Prevent D. The INT is still counted because it's part of the weight of evidence against him. 5. He is not performing to his cap hit. He is one the most expensive back up QBs in the league and needs to start performing according to his cap hit. 6. He didn't try to stretch the defense and when he did, the ball ended up in row Z! 7. His dinking and dunking us down the field ate up too much time, preventing us from going for the winning TD. 8. He's been in this league long enough to know better and the mistakes he made were like a rookie. Time for him to put up or shut up. 9. He just doesn't have "it". You could see his lack of leadership out there in the body language of his team mates. They just knew he couldn't get the job done. 10. He was locking on to Owen Daniels when other options were open - possibly for TDs. If he can't learn to look for other receivers then we need to bring in someone else. I am glad DC got benched because he was truly awful. But let's not allow that to keep us from holding Sage to the same standards as the starting QB. The backup QB is always the most popular guy in town - until he becomes the starter. PS - Next, I'll explain how Sage contributed to the punt return for a TD. |

Hahahaha, you watched the game film too...Im with you 100% on this one.
I would also like to add: I'm shocked people want Sage to start against the Giants. |

I agree to an extent. He made good decisions on who to pass to, but didn't make the best throws. The major knock I have on him is that he seemed completely unaware of the situation he was playing in. Down by 2 touchdowns with 5 mins to play he had no sense of urgency.
He outperformed Carr today with his career best performance, but Carr has had better games. |

That is a very accurate observation of Sage. But what do you expect from a guy that is only counting against 1% of your cap. The issue is what we get for 7.2 million from Carr.

If Sage's play yesterday was bad...then what do you call David's in his entire career?

Geez, I hate it when "leadership" costs us a game. Don't you?
And as for poor clock management, blame Kubiak. He was the guy who decided to get 1st downs (the correct way to go IMO) instead of bombing it down the field. We needed that onside kick and didn't get it. Nothing else to say there. What really killed us were turnovers and dropped passes (*cough Carr and AJ *cough). Give me a break. Our backup QB comes into the 3rd qtr with 9 minutes on the clock and throws three TD passes.
Is is Sage's fault that our special teams can't stop a freakin' punt return? Is it Sage's fault that our starting QB coughs up a fumble for a TD?! There's fourteen points right there, and we only lost by 6. Do the math. Quote:

According to this board we should:
fire Kubiak - cuz of bad clock management (this is his first year as a HC) cut Carr - cuz he has had great games on only 5 of his 7 starts (he is the best QB on our team) bench AJ - cuz he drops the ball too much (he is a top 3 WR in the AFC) go back in time & draft VY or RB - so we can sell tickets instead of win (VY would be worse than Carr behind our line, although he would have a ton of rushing yds & Bush was the 4th best RB in the Draft) |

The board is not group think. You can find differing opinions on every subject if you bother to look. There are hundreds of regular posters, and then thousands of semi-regular posters and lurkers who might only post one a month.
So what if the anti-Carr crowd is more vocal today. They've been given enough ammo to justify it. Carr looked like garbage yesterday. |

My only point was that as Texans fans I dont understand how we can call these guys our favorite players when they play good & then throw them under the bus when they play bad. |

So we now have thread's on It's Sage's fault and it's David's fault. We should start one It's Sheppard's fault (Nice fumble and way to fair catch on the 4).:brickwall

As far as Carr's stats in the fourth qtrs., you have to evaluate what he did and how he played in the first three qtrs. to truly come to a well-rounded conclusion. For instance, 30-3 in Indy, what did Carr do (or not do) earlier in the game to let it get away? Carr - in spite of statistics - is not a consistent QB right now. He has only played one good complete game all year (against the Jaguars). What is up with that? |

Did you really just compare Sage Rosenfel's QB skills to being as beautiful as Jessica Alba? Does that mean Sage really is the next Joe Montana? And if he is, why did he make so many rookie mistakes and cost us the game yesterday? Like I said, just applying the "Texans Message Board Collective QB Rating Parameters Logic" evenly would suggest Sage is no better than Carr. Jay Cutler anyone? |

Great...another garbage time QB who racks up passing stats against prevent D. Just what we need...ZZZzzzzzzz Forgot to add, the toss to the end zone would have been incomplete if not for a superhuman effort from AJ. Verdict = AJ bailed him out. |
