Okay, in the past, they had the excuse that they got killed because the Texans played dirty.

Here's the latest non-excuse excuses:

Here is my commentary about same:

As it turned out, they couldn't, and the age-old NFL dogma about “any given Sunday” held true, again.

That was not an any given Sunday moment in my opinion. We beat the team that they fielded, just as we have been beaten with the team we have fielded in the past. It had much more to do with everyone who touched the field playing with a purpose.

I wonder what kind of cheese goes well with Jaguars whine?

We showed up and played four quarters of football yesterday, and our D finally came to make a statement. I could care less who is injured for Jacksonville, because they would have had a tough game against us regardless of their situation.

Waah Waah boo hoo. None of this worked when we ran Dave Ragone and Tony Hollings against them a few years ago along with a make-shift defense. We got stomped and had our noses rubbed in it then ..... deal with it!

Exactly. That's why I said:

This wasn't an "Any Given Sunday" loss. The Texans destroyed the Jaguars in all parts of the game. I am guessing the hotel hand lotion caused the Jaguars to fumble the ball repeatedly in the second half.

The Texans are now 5-4 against the Jags, not vice versa, Stephy.

That aside, why can't their folks just admit they got whipped? Even their most hard-core knows the stink coming out of their website.

When Jaguars players drove to Alltel Stadium on Saturday morning for a brief practice before heading to the airport, they were greeted by roadblocks that prevented them from getting into the Alltel parking lot.

That explains everything.

Good football players don't complain. They don't make excuses and the Jaguars made none following their loss in Houston. They upheld the highest standards of post-defeat conduct.

I guess this part doesn't apply to lousy journalists, who more than made up for any lack of complaining from the Jags players.

Dead on. All the Jag fans ive talked with love throwing the "injury bug excuse" out there like no other team in the NFL deals with injuries. The funniest part about it though is that Jag fans are jumping off the playoff ship because they lost to us. Hell, they sound worse than some of us did after losing to Dallas!!

When Jaguars players drove to Alltel Stadium on Saturday morning for a brief practice before heading to the airport, they were greeted by roadblocks that prevented them from getting into the Alltel parking lot. A road race event caused some players to be unable to report for meetings on time, which caused Del Rio to have to push his schedule back.

No big deal? Wrong. Football teams are very fragile commodities. The most minor of distractions can damage their routine and focus.

Del Rio's Saturday morning got a bad start when he picked up the newspaper and read that his star running back was complaining about his contract. It was, yet, another distraction; the kind coaches especially dislike.

Forget about the bogus terrorist threat from earlier in the week. You don't scare these guys with that stuff. Their flight proceeded smoothly and uneventfully to Houston and the hope was that maybe, just maybe, they left all of their troubles behind in Jacksonville.

They apparently did not. Some players acknowledged that they had spent a wakeful night in a noisy hotel. Party noise from the street filled several rooms on the street side of the hotel. One player spoke of finally being able to fall asleep, only to be awakened at five in the morning by loud sounds within the hotel. His night was over. It was time to play.

That came from the article. I bust out laughing when I read this.

And to the good Jags fans, we will see you in the small city of Jacksonville. Will that game be black day (or whatever it is called), when the Jags where black jerseys.

It might be "Blacked Out Day" depending on the attendance level. Sorry, I couldnt' resist. Sicilian Jag seems like a pretty classy fan.
