Default Better Franchise?

Which Franchise do you think is the better franchise overall, Texans or Cowboys?

Loaded question if I have ever seen one... but I don't think that it is fair to compare the two because they are so different in terms of history. Based off of fan base, success, and just about everything else, Cowboys are because ultimately it is about winning.

We've only been a franchise for 4 full seasons, how many have the cowboys had? Look at their hall of famers, their tradition, their pride.

It isn't even close - but secondly, why are you posting this? What point does it serve?

The Dallas Cowboys pride pride themselves in a grand tradition of excellency, catching the hearts of thousands of American's spread through out the nation, ultimately being deemed as "America's Team." With Five Super Bowl Rings, one of the highest winning percantage of any NFL team, and legends in the shadows of Texas Stadium such as Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, I believe it's safe to say the Cowboys are not only the finest franchise in Texas, but ultimately the entire NFL.

Did you get this out of an encyclopedia? Sounds so corny.

In the Texans 1st 4 seasons plus the first 2 games in season 5, they are 18-48. A .273 winning percentage.

In the Cowboys 1st 4 seasons plus 1st two games in season 5, they were 14-39-2. A .273 winning percentage.

Looks like we're on the right track.

I gotta ask....

Is it hard to keep a straight face and type that, knowing that you indeed have to include Terrell Owens in that statement?

Substitute Steelers for Texans so the question reads:

"Who do you think is the better franchise? The Steelers or the Cowboys?"

Then you can have a good debate.

Default Long way to go

Hate him or love him but it's the Cowboys under Jerry Jones. 3 of the 4 championships have come under his ownership. He wants to win and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

McNair could learn alot from Jones - can't beleive I'm giving Jerry Jones props. Anyway, hopefully that edge will rub off on McNair and will help to put the Texans in that category of great franchises.

Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas, Texas metropolitan area, and play their home games in the suburb of Irving. They are currently members of the Eastern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Cowboys joined the NFL as a 1960 expansion team. The team is sometimes referred to colloquially as America's Team due to its having a large fan base that lives outside its immediate local area (the term itself is derived from the title of the team's 1979 NFL Films highlight film). According to Forbes Magazine, the Cowboys are one of the most valuable sports teams in North America, with an estimated value of approximately $1.1 billion. The Cowboys are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NFL, holding the league records for most consecutive winning seasons (20, from 1966 to 1985) and most seasons with at least 10 wins (24). The team has earned the most postseason appearances (27, as of 2004, which includes another league record of 54 postseason games, winning 32 of them), the most appearances in the NFC Championship Game (14), and the most Super Bowl appearances (8). The Cowboys also played in 2 NFL championship games before the NFL-AFL merger. The Cowboys became the first team in NFL history to win 3 Super Bowls in just 4 years (a feat that has been matched only once since, by the New England Patriots). They are also tied with the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers for having the most Super Bowl wins (5).

Most of the team's success occurred during a 30-year period from 1966 to 1996 when they qualified for the playoffs 24 times (80%), played in 14 NFC Championship Games (over half of all of the conference title games played) and took the field for 8 Super Bowls (over one quarter of all of the Super Bowl games held).

yes its a copy!!!!

This is one of the reasons I can't watch the Cowboys.
