Default No Respect from the Media

Now I was just wondering what the people crying about the media not giving exposure to the Texans are thinking right now.

The Texans are a playoff contender this, the texans are going to turn alot of heads that.

I am a Texans fan, but not a fanboy and try to be very objective. My expectations were somewhere between 6-10 up to 9-7 if some luck turns our way.

After losing to two of lesser teams in the league, I was just wondering where these fanboys went crying about respect. The media gives respect as it is earned. Stop the crying about the Texans not getting any respect ever.
It is a third year expansion team where the number 1 expansion pick is gone because of injury.

The offensive line is in the bottom five in the league as far as pass blocking is concerned. The secondary outside of aaron glenn is mediocre at best. There is very little pressure getting to the quarterback. The defense has not been able to force any turnovers either, outside of Aaron Glenn being a badass, and even he could not stop the wide reciever monster of Roy Williams all game. (He had good coverage on both TD plays, but the size and playmaking ability of Roy is alot to handle) Although the offense shows a lot of promise, is very young and inexperienced and it is shown with plenty of yardage, but with excessive turnovers which is to be expected. Coupled with the fact the Texans have to play the Colt, Titans, and Jags twice each, how could you realistically expect the playoffs.

But the Texans have alot of talent and will look good many times the rest of the season. Nobody should give up on the team yet.

My point is, STOP WITH THE RESPECT TALK. YOU GET RESPECT WHEN YOU EARN IT.

The Texans simply dont deserve it quite yet. Coupled with unrealistic expectations from fans, patience is the key. Two years from now your Texans should be able to earn respect, and turn that corner known as the playoffs.

Try being objective rather than objectionable--you'll have a lot more friends.

I don't know where this media bias your inventing comes from

It's always been pro David Carr, Pro the young texans.

Then you have Jerry Glanville Ripping Joey Harrington 8 ways from Sunday on CBS last year

But now the lions are winning, the media coverage is a little ridiculous..... Trust me, you rather no one talks about you. When you start losing your a dispointment insted of the expected outcome which is easier to swallow.

7 Turnovers in as many quarters will never get you in respect.

I was referring to the fact that nobody on the national level expected the texans to do anything. And everyone being against the lions was last year, until they pulled off that awesome draft in April.

But the lions are a pretender, and not a contender, they beat the BEARS and the TEXANS, not something to really brag about.
Looking at the schedule, I say the lions win only 5 of their next 14 games.

That would move us to 7-9 for the year, within the predicted range of victories. A lucky bounce here and there and the Lions go 10-6.

That's like saying the Texans will do the same. The problem with having young inexperienced teams is that the luck goes against you because they provide the lucky opportunities for more experienced teams. The Lions only have to be around .500 to have a better year than last year. Sometimes the records aren't what to judge. Is the team playing better football and just getting beat? Is the team coming together better? Those are the important questions...

For the most part, ESPN only covers the winning team. It would be nice to get some recognition though.

I believe Tedc picked the Texans as 11-5 or 10-6 but I haven't seen him around these parts in a while. It's funny how the "fanboys" as you call them kind of go into hiding when the team does poorly.

When it is a lesser game, which is basically any game the Texans are in, they are not going to show many Houston highlights when we lose in their 30 second window. Roy Williams catches were clearly the plays of the game, as both were very special catches, while a 99 yard kick return is generally considered a big play also.

That would be why they did not show many Houston Texans highlights.
