Low Throws

Anybody remember one of the few concerns on Carr coming out of college was the low trajectory on his throws? Palmer and Co. worked with Carr to drop back holding the ball higher and raise his release point on throws. Im going to be watching today to see If he has fallen back into his old habbits. One of his interceptions last week hit the d-linemans HELMIT. And he sems to get a lot of batted balls.

He would be well advised to quit throwing off his back foot also.

Reminds me of almost every interception Warren Moon threw............back foot-itis or "Happy feet".

The pass that hit off the helmet last week was due to a blitz that rushed the pass. David was just trying to get the ball off for an incompletion rather than taking a sack. I don't see where he throws off his back foot or has happy feet in a comfortable pocket. One thing is having bad footwork or bailing out of good protection...another thing is buying time and throwing on the run. Throwing off his back foot is done sometimes due to trying to get the ball off and throwing it away.

The problem is that his release WAS low and he was not trying to throw the ball away.

I don't see where he throws off his back foot or has happy feet in a comfortable pocket.

No one has a problem with a comfortable pocket. It's how you handle collapsing pockets that set you apart.

Throwing off his back foot is done sometimes due to trying to get the ball off and throwing it away.

Again, the problem has been that he does this while not throwing it away. This resulted in interception #1 last week.
