This morning I took a bet for $100 that the Texans will win 5 games or more.
My friend, a misguided Cowgirl, thinks that we will win 4 or less.
Would you take the Texans and 5 wins?

I'd make that bet. I think that the Texans were a few plays and defensive stands away from winning 6 games last year. That's just me though. I think Kubiak is smarth enough makes those types of plays occur enough this year to get the Texans at least...seven wins. I think the Dayne pick-up will help a lot.

If I could afford to lose 100, I would make that bet. No bet is 100% safe though. But, I would venture to put the odds at 80%+ that we will get to 5 wins. If not, it will be QB play that is the reason. If the bet was 6 or greater, I might take it, but 5? Yes, for sure I would take it. 7 or higher I would not take the bet.

Seriously in the NFL in this age the teams are so close to one another talent wise its difficult to picture many teams finishing with less than 7 W's unless they are just torn apart by injury .... The Texans should beat the Titanics (Twice), Raiders , Jets and Bills ..... thats five and there is no reason to think they wont win a few of those "Coin-Flip" games.

I would take it in a hearbeat.

Unless something goes terribly wrong, 5 wins should be a cakewalk.

I don't tend to bet on sports as injuries, lockerroom strife, etc. can play a big role. Too many variables and too much chance.

That said I would feel pretty confident in taking that bet.

they are getting sort of intimidating on defense. I look for the secondary to start ball hawking after a while of getting used to a D-Line that actually rushes QB throws. If and this is a big if but if the dee gets the idea it's a bunch of badasses and if the team jumps out to a good turnover ratio, we could be looking at this year's Bears.

To answer this you just need to look at our schedule. Just pick out 5 teams we should beat. One of those games we will lose. Are there more then 5? lets see here. I don't like picking winning and losing but this is money its for a good cause.

Now this is going to be my worst case record for the Texans:

Miami - L
@Dallas - L
Jacksonville - W
@Tennessee - W
@New York Giants - L
@Jacksonville - L
Buffalo - W
@New York Jets - W
@Oakland - W (Some may not agree here, but if you sign Jeff Gorge all is not well)

eh 8-8 its also not going to be right. We are going to win a game or two we shouldn't, and lose a few the same way. Good luck.
