Colts RB Mungro to miss season with knee injury - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

Mungro, a short-yardage specialist who has scored 13 touchdowns in four seasons with the Colts, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with what coach Tony Dungy said was a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

"Don't know when they're going to do the surgery but at some point that's just going to be necessary," Dungy said.

Mungro also played on special teams for the Colts, and Dungy said he was uncertain how to replace him.

"He was our third back and was a very good runner, a guy that could go in and play tailback and win games for us," Dungy said. "He was a very good special teams player for us. So somebody's going to have to step into that role."

The 610 guys were saying yesterday that Wells still had not signed with any team. Perhaps he might be an option.

That kind of surprised me. I know he's not an elite back but I don't remember him being all that bad.

Well when you think of the value Mungro had on ST, Wells fits in very well for that. Wells was one heck of a special teamer.

I wanna know which of you guys has the voodoo doll out. First Portis and now Mongro. Maybe some mojo going on here ? Isn't Westbrook dinged also ? If Julius Jones goes down this weekend...hmmmm.

Tony Hollings is on the team and has played well for them this preseason.

The Colts are going to come back to the pack this season. I don't know but that it won't be a dogfight between us, the Colts and the Jaguars. Stranger things have happened to a team in the span of a year. Seems like the Detroit Tigers of MLB were the historically worst team of all time season before last and now they are the powerhouse of the AL.
