It's good that you have Pinner there too, because rookie RBs are always an adventure for the fans. Is Pinner the goaline back, or do they keep Jones in still? I'm sure his missing the holes is just nervousness, and it will subside when he gets more acclimated to the NFL game. I'm glad to hear Jones has become more of a contact RB, because he's always had the size but Suggs was always considered the bruiser of the two backs at VT. Doesn't Kircus handle return duties for the Lions? Moses is fun to watch, and he's our returner. He doesn't do much on punts, but he's a much better KR than PR. We have a talented WR too that's a fan favorite in Houston. Kendrick Starling is the main reason we carried 6 WRs into this season. He mainly plays special teams as a gunner, but everyone loved what they saw of him in the preseason. You might want to keep an eye out for him in the game Sunday because he's got great speed. You'll undoubtedly see him make a tackle or two on a PR or KR. Leading up to the cut down to the 53 man roster there were threads on the MB about whether or not to keep Moses to open up a spot for Starling. I think everyone is glad we were able to keep both, and Kendrick might press Moses for the KR/PR job next season.

OK
Listened to June Jones last night (he knows a little I guess) when asked about the teams who get off to poor starts like 0-1 / 0-2 his comment was "they still have plenty of time to get back in the thing" he continue's, "if they can start to get hot and finish .500 going into December those teams will be alright". The Texans have a difficult schedule through November into December but if they can hold their heads above water, beat the Titans at Reliant Nov. 28th & still be .500 they have a chance. The last 5 opponents are the Jets (Dec. 5th) Colts (Dec. 12th) Bears (Dec. 19th) Jaguars (Dec. 26th) Browns (Jan. 2nd).Of course it would be helpful................ no inspiring, to beat the Lions this weekend thus increasing the Texans season aspirations.

QUESTION: What will the Lions record be after the game this weekend in Detroit?
MY GUESS: 1-1, (as a Texan fan it seems to me I'm entitled to predict a Texan victory, although it certainly doesn't guaranty anything) the same record as last years playoff teams the Patriots, Titans, Ravens, Packers, Rams and Cowboys after two games into the 2003 season. Both the Lions and the Texans could be in good shape for an improved season after this weekend. |
