ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings receiver Koren Robinson was in jail Wednesday on suspicion of drunken driving, a newspaper reported. Sgt. Loren Jansen of the St. Peter Police Department told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that Robinson was arrested around 10:46 p.m. Tuesday for "driving while impaired." A dispatcher at the Nicollet County sheriff's department confirmed to The Associated Press that Robinson was still in county jail Wednesday morning but would not provide further information. Jansen told the newspaper that multiple charges were pending, but a police report had not been filed yet. "I won't be able to tell you a lot, other than that he was arrested for driving while impaired," Jansen told the Pioneer Press, "and he is incarcerated at this time." The newspaper said Vikings officials and Robinson's agent, Alvin Keels, could not be reached for comment early Wednesday morning. Robinson was arrested on his way back to the Vikings' training camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Players were expected to report back to their dorm by 11 p.m. Robinson, 26, is in his second season with the Vikings. He emerged as the team's most dangerous receiver last season and made his first trip to the Pro Bowl, as a kick returner. The Vikings rewarded him with a new three-year contract in March that included $5.5 million in guaranteed money.

I really hope this doesn't set him back too far, he's already gone down to the bottem in Seattle and managed to make his way back up, and it probably cost him a year and a half of his career.

Wasn't he suspended for a whole year a few seasons ago? He's a great talent but he's extremely immature. Just like a lot of other athletes. And the entire Cincinnati Bengals.

KIRKLAND, Wash. (Oct. 4, 2006) -- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Koren Robinson was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating probation in a drunken-driving case. Robinson appeared in Municipal Court in this Seattle suburb, where he pleaded guilty last year to drunken driving. At the time, he was given a five-year sentence that was suspended on condition he not drink or have any other law violations. The former first-round draft pick was then released by the Seattle Seahawks and signed by the Minnesota Vikings. But Robinson was charged with drunking driving again after he was stopped for speeding in August in Minnesota near the Vikings' training camp, leading to this hearing. He was released by the Vikings after that incident, and picked up by Green Bay last month. Judge Robert McSeveney, a visiting judge from nearby Kent, sentenced Robinson to 90 days in jail, and said he could spend half of it on work-release.
