Default Wade's Destination

The Saints brought in our former tackle Todd Wade for a look and maybe they'll sign him. Hopefully he finds himself a home be season opener.

The New Orleans Saints are looking for help to shore up their aching offensive line. They took a quick look Monday morning at former Houston Texans lineman Todd Wade.

The 6-foot-8, 315-pound offensive tackle was waived by the Texans after he tore knee ligaments in November. Wade started nine games in the second season of a six-year, $30 million contract. He was drafted in the second round out of Mississippi in 2000 by the Dolphins.

"The workout might've been 15 minutes, so it was more or less to make sure he's healthy and ready to go," Payton said.

When asked when the team might sign Wade, Payton simply said: "We'll see."

Default Todd Wade visits with Saints

Because the offensive line has trudged through camp with injuries and inconsistency, the team brought in former Ole Miss tackle Todd Wade for a workout. The 6-foot-8, 317-pound Wade was two years into a six-year, $30 million contract he signed after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Last month, he was released by the Houston Texans.

"We gave him a physical early on," Payton said, "and the workout might have been 15 minutes, so it was more or less just making sure he's healthy and ready to go."

But Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said later that the team hadn't signed Wade.

Redskins | Wade signed
Tue, 5 Sep 2006 12:54:45 -0700

Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports the Washington Redskins have signed OL Todd Wade (Texans). Details of the contract were not disclosed.
From kffl.com--guess Wade gets to be a hog.

Guess that makes him the backup OT for the Redskins.

His tenure in Houston was marked by inconsistency, injury and a big financial investment that went sour for Texans officials.
