Default Small preview of what might to expect from the Eagles.

not sure if this is news..

Quote:
EAGLE SPREADING WINGS
Just as the Saints are devising ways to use Bush, the Eagles are expected to do the same with running back Brian Westbrook.

Because of the lack of proven wide receivers and because of the presence of second-year running back Ryan Moats, the Eagles could wind up lining up Westbrook as a receiver even more than they have in other seasons. But the Eagles simply want to get Westbrook the ball.

However they do it, Westbrook is expected to catch a sizable number of passes and become even more of a multi-dimensional weapon than he has been. This is the season that this Eagles running back will be spreading his wings.

Eagles | Team only has one big back and he's not always healthy
Sun, 16 Jul 2006 06:50:21 -0700

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports the Philadelphia Eagles only have one big running back, RB Correll Buckhalter, and he has not had the best of luck from a health perspective. Buckhalter has two more knee surgeries than carries and games played over the last two seasons, so it probably wouldn't be wise to expect a lot from him this year. He also didn't participate in the team's minicamps, so training camp is going to be a real test for Buckhalter, a good guy with awful luck. After Buckhalter, the Eagles don't have another tailback over 5-foot-10 or 210 pounds unless you count RB Reno Mahe.

Eagles | Battle wide open for team's No. 4 and 5 WR spots
Sun, 16 Jul 2006 06:46:45 -0700

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports rookie WRs Jeremy Bloom, Jason Avant, Hank Baskett and J.J. Outlaw will battle with veterans WRs Darnerian McCants and Justin Jenkins for the fourth and fifth wide-receiver spots during training camp.

Eagles | Gaffney and Lewis to battle at No. 3 WR spot
Sun, 16 Jul 2006 06:45:07 -0700

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports assuming Philadelphia Eagles WR Todd Pinkston (Achilles') is healthy and the team's No. 2 wide receiver, WRs Jabar Gaffney and Greg Lewis will battle for the team's No. 3 wide receiver slot in training camp. Gaffney ran from the slot quite often in minicamp and is much bigger than Lewis, who was disappointing last year after moving into the No. 2 role following Pinkston's injury.

Eagles | Pinkston to be No. 2 WR; if healthy
Sun, 16 Jul 2006 06:43:35 -0700

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Todd Pinkston (Achilles') is expected to be the team's No. 2 wide receiver, if he is 100 percent recovered from last season's Achilles' tendon injury. Pinkston participated in a limited manner during the team's offseason minicamps.

Eagles | R. Brown only apparent starting wide receiver
Sun, 16 Jul 2006 06:34:31 -0700

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Reggie Brown appears to be only guaranteed starting wide receiver as the team gets ready to open training camp this week.

I think Gaffney could actually end up being their second receiver since Pinkston is overrated and he might have decent numbers since Brown is probably going to be good. I think Westbrook might get hurt though from being overworked.
When they play the Texans, I hate to say it since I'm a fan of the team but I hope they play badly. Then once they move on to face the Cowboys twice, I hope they kick their asses and T.O. is whining like a little crybaby on the sidelines.
