Default 10-year Record Predictions for the Texans

Yeah yeah. Many people make predictions during the offseason on what their team might be like in the next season. Well I'd like to make one not just for this season, but for 10 future seasons. I'm not no fortuneteller (hate em') or anything like that I'll just make the best predictions the best I can.

Year W-L (Playoff Result) [Events]
2006 8-8 (None)
2007 9-7 (None)
2008 5-11 (None)
2009 8-8 (None)
2010 8-8 (None) [Carr traded to the Cowboys]
2011 3-13 (None) [Kubiak retires, no he doesn't get fired]
2012 7-9 (None) [Got #1 pick again a QB, new coach]
2013 9-7 (None)
2014 10-6 (Lost Wild Card)
2015 12-4 (Lost Super Bowl)
2016 13-3 (Lost AFC Championship)

Just pick one I don't care what happens, just don't hate on people if they think differently.

Wink

Your prediction are depressing, to say the least.

Let me look into my own crystal ball...

2006 - 8-8
2007 - 9-7 Wildcard (loss in first round)
2008 - 11-5 Division winner (win first round, lose in second round)
2009 - 10-6 Division winner (lose in AFC Championship game)
2010 - 12-4 Division/Conference/NFL Champions (win Superbowl)
2011 and beyond - the Kubiak dynasty (he retires in 2028 with five rings as a Texan)

Hey, a man can dream

Is this like a joke? The college first rounders of 2016 are in 5th grade right now.

Haha, this is a cool prediction thread. There's no way any of us can realistically predict the records for the next 10 years, but it's fun to imagine.

2006: 9-7 (Miss the playoffs)
2007: 10-6 (Make the playoffs, lose in the first round)
2008: 12-4 (The Texans win the AFC South, lose in AFC Championship game)
2009: 10-6 (Make it in as the wildcard, lose the Super Bowl)
2010: 7-9 (First step back for Kubiak)
2011: 8-8 (Miss out on playoffs)
2012: 5-11 (Our first bad season since 2005, 7 seasons earlier)
2013: 9-7 (Miss playoffs)
2014: 11-5 (Win the Super Bowl as the wildcard)
2015: 10-6-1 (First tie in Texans history, that tie causes us to be the wildcard and we lose in first round)
2016: 13-3 (Best record ever for Texas, win Super Bowl)

So in the next 10 years we will have:

7 winning seasons
2 losing seasons
1 .500 season

and

6 playoff appearances
3 Super Bowl appearances (2 wins, 1 loss)

and just for the heck of it, here's my predictions for the Cowboys

2006: 13-3 (Win Super Bowl because T.O. doesn't explode yet
2007: 1-15 (T.O. explodes
2008-2016: 0-16 every year! Maybe they'll tie a game..

2006: 10-6 - squeak into the playoffs, win the wild card round, lose the divisional round
2007: 12-4- Have our FIRST PLAYOFF HOME GAME, win, get to the AFC Championship, where we beat...New England...in Foxborough. We win the Superbowl against the Cardinals and the city of Houston rejoices.
2008: 12-4- Get a first round playoff bye, beat the Steelers in the AFC Championship and showdown against...the Seahawks, where we lose
2009: 9-7 - Domanick Davis gets cut loose from the team. David Carr, Mario Williams, Dunta Robinson, Jason Babin, and DeMeco Ryans ALL suffer year ending injuries early in the season. We start off with a 2-6 record, but end up winning the next 7 games until the last game of the season where we fall flat on our face AT HOME, trying to make a desperate stab at the Playoffs against...you guessed it, THE BROWNS.
2010: 14-2 - The team rebounds, as the amazing depth that we cultivated the previous year blossoms and our normal superstars shine. We have a first round bye, and then beat the Colts in the divisional round and the Patriots in the AFC Championship. Now, we face...THE SAINTS and Reggie Bush in teh Superbowl. ESPN does not shut up about the "Reggie vs. Mario" matchup once the teams in the Superbowl are determined. Texans win the Superbowl in a tight, low scoring affair 14-10.
2011: 13-3 - The team makes it to the Playoffs easily, starting off with a 12-0 record before resting their starters for the last four weeks of the season. They get to the playoffs and barely edge the Titans in the divisional round after a first round bye. They then fall to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship in a high scoring affair
2012: 10-6 - The team loses David Carr to Free Agency and chooses to trade up to get a QB. The difference between the two QB's shows on the field, and the Texans MISS the playoffs with a 10-6 record because of a strong showing by the AFC South, despite the fact that the Miami Dolphins (with Dom Capers as defensive coordinator) get into the playoffs with a 9-7 record...
2013: 12-4 - The great record notwithstanding, it's not good enough to get the team a first round bye. We face the finally reformed Browns under Romeo Crennel and beat their 3-4 defense handily. We then face...the Titans in the divisional round, who, under Vince Young managed to get themselves a 15-1 record. We beat them in OVERTIME, 37-31 with a Vince Young interception, thrown into the waiting arms of Dunta Robinson as he is hurred by Mario Williams. Then, in the AFC Championship, we beat the Wild-Card Patriots at home in the AFC Championship to move on to the Superbowl where we again face THE SAINTS. ESPN AGAIN, will not shut up about "the rematch between Reggie Bush and Mario Williams". Texans win, this time in a higher scoring affair, with Reggie Bush somehow getting a punt return for a touchdown: 31-27.
2014: 6-10 We lose Dunta Robinson to free agency. We're forced to choose between either keeping him or keeping Mario + DeMeco. Mario Williams suffers an injury to his ACL which sidelines him for the rest of the season...during the preseason. We lose our newly emerged franchise QB in week 4 of the season, as well as Eric Winston in week 5. Charles Spencer (our franchise LT), goes down with Winston in the same game, meaning we've lost both our bookends all at once. Andre Johnson goes down in week 10, as the Texans are trying to make a push to stay in the race for the playoffs with a 5-5 record and this dooms the Texans. They only win 1 more game the rest of the season.
2015: 9-7 Travis Johnson, after having gone to two Pro Bowls, leaves the team. With our high draft pick, we get our replacement for Dunta Robinson, which helps our now aging defense. We struggle to close out a few games later on in the season because of the lack of depth on the defensive line and barely miss the playoffs. We are eliminated the same week that we win a game, much like the Dolphins these last few years. Spoiled Texans fans who used to be on the Reggie Bush/Vince Young bandwagon begin to call for Kubiak's head, citing the Saints/Titans Superbowl in which the Titans again lose...by ONE YARD, 42-38
2016: 14-2 The Texans escape the injury bug and burst onto the scene, regaining their earlier form. They easily dispose of the Titans after their first round bye and then dismantle the Dolphins in the AFC Championship. They then face an aging Arizona Cardinals team that they barely squeak by 21-20 in the Superbowl, thanks in large part to a recovered fumble by DeMeco Ryans off a Mario Williams forced fumble on Matt Leinart. The city of Houston rejoices.

let me play!

06-11-5 Division title lose AFC championship game
07-10-6 Wild Card - Superbowl win Kris Brown Superbowl MVP
08-13-3 Division title - Superbowl win AJ/Moulds Superbowl MVP
09-7-9 miss playoffs-Moulds retires, DD retires (Nagging injuries) Smith takes head coaching job
10-11-5 Division title - Superbowl win -Carr Superbowl MVP, first pro-bowl
11-12-4 Division title - Superbowl win - Carr MVP
gets hazy from there

it could happen. Steelers, 9er's, Cowboys, Patriots. Why not the Texans?

If it were Madden: 160-0 with 10 Superbowl rings offense averages 85 points a game

Many fans here at this bored would be happy with me if I showed you my Texans Madden, they're 8-7 now and if I could make them beat the Titans (13-2 in my Madden), they would have a .500 season.

Here is my prediction.

We start winning alot of games and as a result us true fans have to put up with more bandwagon fans at the All Access day that ask questions like " They say this line is for some guy named Dunta Robinson, he's like a safety or something?" or "Hey there's Andre Johnson" when clearly it is Fred Weary, or "What position does Eric Winston play?"

My turn....

(7-9) 2006: The Texans take a giant step forward, but with the new systems that are established they still dont have a winning season under thier belts...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, Drob, DD(reserve)

(10-6) 2007: The Texans are now a dominant force in the AFC South with the Colts...Houston snags the Wild Card game, but falls short...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, Drob, Mario, DeMeco(reserve)

(11-5) 2008: In Carrs last year under contract, the Texans make it all the way to the AFC Championship to loose against the Steelers, Carr accepts a 5 year contract extension...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, DC, DD, Drob, DeMeco

(10-6) 2009: The Texans are plagued with injuries to key players but manage to make the Wild Card, but lose to none other than the Denver Broncos...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, Drob, DeMeco (Superbowl: Colts v.s. Giants)

(12-4) 2010: After the Texans have one of thier most successful drafts and getting thier key players back from injury, the Texans finally reach the Superbowl and are considered to be an elite team in the NFL. The Texans beat the Arizona Cardinals in the Superbowl...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, DC, Mario, Drob, DeMeco, Mathis, Winston, Pitts

(11-5) 2011: With a Superbowl victory under thier belts the Texans are the team to beat in the AFC...Houston makes it to th ACF Championship, but falls short because Kris Brown shanked a 48 field goal...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, DC, DD, Mario, Drob, DeMeco, Winston

(13-3) 2012: The Texans sweep all of thier rivals in the AFC South and go on to the AFC Champioship game...with David Carr having a MVP year, the Texans beat the Steelers in overtime. The Superbowl is between the Saints and the Texans...The Texans stop Bush and win thier second Superbowl in 3 years...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, Drob, DeMeco, Winston, Hodgdon

(9-7) 2013: The Texans fall short of the Wild Card...Houston was plagued with injuries and couldnt seem to stay on thier feet...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, Drob, DeMeco

(11-5) 2014: After the texans bounce back from their worst season in 6 years, the Texans get a bye week but lose to the New York Jets...Pro-Bowlers: AJ, DC, Mario, Drob, DeMeco

(7-9) 2015: The Texans lose many key players in Free Agency and for Cap reasons and suffer thier first losing season in 8 years...Kubiak resigns as head coach and hire ME as General Manager and the New Era for the Texans begin.

I do punt. I did a fantasy draft at the beggining of the season in franchise mode, and the Texans are now a moderately well-bred team, but they lost so they're 8-8.
