Kickers Getting The Boot

Just a few Kickers who are getting booted by their respective teams this year.


Morton Anderson Chiefs

Steve Christie Jags

Matt Bryant Cowboys

I can't say the last two surprised me, but Morton Anderson getting the boot at the young age of 44 is a bit of a shock. Guess the Tynes kid really impressed Vermeil.

I assume the Scobee kid is improving for the Jags, but it's always a bit tense come crunch time with a rookie kicker. Perhaps one of the Jags fans can fill me in on how well he's done thus far in the preseason.

Bryant from the Cowboys was cut because he hur his hamstring during warmups. They went with Cundiff because he's not injured. I'm guessing they'll have to make Bryant some sort of injury settlement because I think it's against the union rules to cut a player because he's hurt.

Are u sure they claimed it was because he was injured? I figured they'd just chalk it up to a bad performance because Cundiff did fairly well in the preseason.

I'm sorry but I don't know; I was just going by what the radio guys said. They said he and Cundiff were dead even for the job and it was going to be a "last cut" decision and then Bryant hurt his hamstring during warmups. So I was just guessing that he wouldn't have been well by opening weekend so they decided on Cundiff.

Pure conjecture on my part!

I should also correct my first post...to read "hurt" not "hur"...duh!

He started of the first game going 1 for 3 but would have been 2-3 if not for a penalty. The second game he went 0-1(let Jeff Chandler Kick). Against the Packers he went 3 for 3 with a touchback, and against the Pats he went 1-1 with a touchback. Jack Del Rio and Special Teams coach Pete Rodqeguiz stated that at first Scobee was trying to kill the ball through the Uprights and they worked with him working just on his accuarcy tell him not to kill the ball. Dont be surprised if Scobee struggles for Jack to find a Veteren Kicker in Free Agency. If you need any more info just let me know.
