This defense is going to be so much fun to watch.
One of my favorite things about going to the Dome during the Oiler's best years was seeing a bone-jarring hit by the Oiler D, and then hearing the crowd after the hit and during the subsequent replays. We haven't had much of that these last four years. It will be especially sweet when it is Peyton or Marvin Harrison receiving the punishment.

I was stoked about picking Williams, as he's one of the players that I advocated trading down for.
Solid, consistent defense is a work of art, IMO. Ever since the old Luv Ya Blue days and players like Robert Brazile and Elvin Bethea became my heroes as a kid, it made me a big fan of the defensive side of football. This was reinforced when the 'dome became the "House of Pain". Man, those were great times. I'm really stoked about our potential defense this year and beyond. I think we have the makings of something special, a unit that other teams not only have to gameplan for, but also fear facing. I'm really looking forward to seeing Mario's first big sack (hopefully at Reliant), and watching him drive an enemy's QB into the ground. That will be a beautiful moment in this football fan's eyes. |

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!!!
I live for big hits. I like big hits almost as much as I like long touchdown runs. Maybe we should call our defense The Wild Bunch. Kind of a wild west theme.

By far my favorite hit was when Buddy Ryan jabbed Kevin Gilbride right in the kisser.

The best kind of hits are the ones you can hear in the stands.

I know that there was a thread on props but reading this has given me an idea. Back in the day the ST for the Oilers use to come out with Army helmets on. If ya'll want a Gimmic to bring back the "House of Pain" Why not start wearing Army helmets to the games, you can usually get them at an army surplus store!! or buy fake ones. And as far this thread I want a few HIGHLIGHT reel hits EVERY game.

Speaking of big hits and beeing pumped up, people talk about the fans haveing there on "THING", I was wondering if any of you have heard the P.O.D. Live Version of "BOOM", they put Microphones in the audiance and had them say "BOOM" here comes the "BOOM", it freaking rocks, I was wondering how we could get that as one of the songs they play before the game.
It has a awsome intro and there is the crowd noise through the whole thing, AND they SAY "HERE COMES THE BOYS FROM THE SOUTH", last time I checked Texas was South. |

Couldn't we also wear the army helmets with horns attached? Maybe call our stadium the Big Bunker. |

I think we should wait until the Texans start winning before we start wearing Army Helmets and invent some name for the stadium. It will only make us look like fools.

IMO if the players see the fans pumped and ready to rock,as opposed to sitting there waiting to see what happens, maybe that will ignite some more adrenaline for the players, to get us really ROWDY!!!

Look in the Bull Pen. The fans are pumped.

Actually, it's kinda hard to get pumped up for a game when the only thing playing over the intercom is country music. I am a country music fan, I have been one my whole life....but I also like other kinds of music. I am envious when I watch other games and they are playing Bush or Nickelback. Something that can get the blood flowing. Anything is better than that tired old song from Clay Walker...."It's football time in Houston."

I think I'll head over to the Army/Navy store this afternoon. My wife loves decorating/painting stuff like that. I'll get two of them.
