-- Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison will have elbow surgery May 22.

The surgery, which will be performed in his hometown of Philadelphia, is for an injury sustained during the 2005 season.

Harrison, who caught 82 passes for 1,146 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2005, left the final minicamp workout early to catch a flight.

Why didn't he get the surgery done 3 months ago when he wasn't playing football? There has to be a good reason. Will he miss any games this year because of this our is it just a minor injury as I don't remember really missing any games last year.

Well the colts have had a rough off season... maybe a door is opening for us to get some wins over them.

The reason he did not get the surgery for his elbow done 3 months ago was because he had his wrist operated on first... usually, people do not like to do two surgeries at a time.

Oh, and he will be fine by the season. No worries.

O, wow, I didn't hear anything mentioned about that. Thanks for the update. I'm sure he will be fine and be ready for the season, but I think this could effect him this year, considering this would be his second surgery in the offseason. I don't see him being 100% after two surgeries, but I could easily be proved wrong when we're talking about a player like Marvin Harrison here.

Hard enough to come back full speed from one surgery, but two is going to be real tough and this close to the start of the season......well that doesn't sound real likely, at least at the start of it.
