If the Eagles wanted Hank Baskett, why didn't they draft him in the seventh round or sign him while he was available? They're getting pretty desperate now

Philly didn't have a 7th rounder and Baskett chose Minnesota over them...

It's not like the Eagles are giving up a special receiver, though, since McMullen only has 22 receptions and 1 TD for his career...

Philly was the only team to have Baskett work out before the draft. He might have signed with Minn. before the Eagles called him about signing with them. Remember, Childress was with the Eagles last year. Might be a favor. McMullen was most likely a cut anyway. Baskett could wind up on the practice squad, McMullen could not.

baskett has talent. this is a good trade for philadelphia.

There must be a common scout here in the western part of Texas and southern New Mexico that has ties with the Eagles because it seems the Eagles always get a player from this region every year. Baskett is a specimen and can catch the ball, but looks lazy and can get rattled by smaller players.
