Default Duff picked up by Bears

Duff got picked up by the Bears. Didn't see much of the preseason games, but I guess he was a disappointment.

They are way thin on CB's. RW just got hurt and will be out for a while. I thought he was going to push J.J. Guess not.

I though he would be a better keep with a CB/PR. Than putting JJ at WR/PR. I guess JJ is blowing him away at returns.

You suppose they know he's injured? Rotator cuff.

Default Duff Gets Claimed By 'Da Bears'

Despite his injured shoulder the Bears claimed Duff as well as a CB from the Jags off waivers. They had some bad luck with injuries in their secondary. Wonder if he has a shot of making their roster now with Azumah out for a while. This makes the second time the Bears have claimed a CB waived by us this preseason. Notice they waived Kelly to make room for him.

Quote:
Chicago Bears: The Bears have augmented their injury-depleted secondary by claiming cornerbacks Vontez Duff and Blue Adams off waivers. To make room for them, wide receiver Jamin Elliott and corner Eric Kelly were released.

A second-year veteran, Adams was released this week by Jacksonville, after having appeared in eight games for the Jaguars in 2003. Duff was the Houston Texans' sixth-round pick in this year's draft but was released on Monday after a poor training camp.
