You people have to think beyond the talent of the draft. Kubiak came in and his first priority is to make the team better, no? Well, first he evaluates the players he has to work with and decides what is needed. He was a damn Running Backs coach. Do you really think that just seeing Reggie Bush totally voids out what he's learned his whole career as a coach. We have DD, Morency, and Wells (im not sure if he is still there, but it wouldnt make much of a difference because we could easily get a back with his ability in the draft past round 3.) on the roster right now. This running backs roster is very capable of being extremely successful under Kubiak. Kubiak has to know that. He is from Houston, he does not have a confidence problem. He knows what he is capable of. He does not need Reggie Bush. Sure, he's probably thought about it, but only because he has big play ability. Big play ability in college doesnt really mean **** in the NFL. Big play ability in the NFL is def not as effective as long consistant drives. He has the ability to run teams down and score in the running backs he has already. Why the hell would he want to add another running back to the roster. Thats just an overload. See how the Lions did with wide receivers. You dont need all of those running backs. He has a star and a great backup on the roster already, he really does not need Reggie Bush.
Why pick up Reggie Bush and get a guy that may run 200 yards on a bad defence and maybe get shut down by a good one. He has 1000s of opportunities with the first pick. Do you really beleive that Reggie Bush is his favorite option. Hell no its not, and he will def go with his favorite option. Do NOT expect Kubiak to select Reggie Bush. He is a TOOL. Bush is everyones crack right now. Kubiak wants to bring in as many potential starts from this draft as he can, and i dont see him stayin at #1, unless he takes Mario, which i think is too high for him. #2 isnt, but #1 is. Most likely they already have at least 2 trade candidates and they are just throwing them curveballs and waiting for one to swing. For the record, I do not mind if we take Reggie Bush, nor Vince Young, nor Mario Williams, nor A.J. Hawk, nor Vernon Davis, nor D'Brick, nor Michael Huff. We would be in good shape if we picked ANY of those players. I just don't understand how the Texans have duped so many people in believing that they are that high on Reggie Bush. |

Wells is no longer on the roster and Morencey needs new cleats and hasnt proven he can shoulder the load. I only see one tool....

Gee, maybe the Texans have fooled everyone into thinking they're high on Bush because they ARE high on Reggie Bush. Don't you think it's a coincidence that he is #1 on EVERYONE'S draft board?
If you could go back in time, would you take Barry Sanders #1? Or LaDainian Tomlinson? You draft the best player available, unless it is simply a position you have invested too much money. DD is OK, but the guy can't go to the bathroom without hurting himself. Reggie is valuable as a #1, and not just b/c he is awesome at his position. He is #1 because of the matchups he will present Kubiak. Denver's running game may be great, but they have never had a threat like Bush. Imagine Bush and Andre and Moulds. If Carr can get over being shell shocked the last 4 seasons, we will have a great offense. |

it's "cheering while we're losing 'fans' " , with "cheering while we're losing" being a clause functioning as an adjective. Just thought I'd clarify that. GO TEXANS!

There are a lot of question marks about this draft, but there are a couple of things that are pretty much a given--(1) Texans won't draft an Aggie (1 on current roster) or a Longhorn (0 on roster) or (2) probally won't take a player from a Texas school period (4 on roster).
It's amazing that both our high schools and colleges are major 'hot beds' for other states/teams but not so for the Texans! Being a National Champion and dominating the All Big 12 team is just not good enough for the Texans to draft a Longhorn!! People talk about loyalty to a team and the Aggies and Longhorns are without question huge supporters of their schools/teams--wonder how many of the Texans season ticket holders are Aggies or Longhorns?...bet it is more than one!!!!

But seriously. DD did get hurt quite a bit. As talented as he is, he has a penchant for getting hurt. He is not a full time, grind out the yards RB in the NFL. Bush may not be, either, although he has no history of injury. But imagine using both of them together. DD, Bush, Moulds, AJ, and a decent TE (maybe Putzier, maybe not, in the long term). That is the possibility of quite a potent offense. But I am even more excited about the fact that we will have that offense with Kubiak. Those same guys with Joe Pendry and Chris Palmer would still be 5-11 or so. But with Kubiak, we should be a lot better. |
