Default Trade down for Mario

Seems to me like a popular opinion on these boards is that Mario Williams should only be drafted after trading down.

My question is this:
Trade down to where? I keep seeing mocks that show him drafted with the #2 pick.

If we want Mario Williams, where do we expect him to be for the trade?

I'd imagine you could get a better deal for Mario with his agent right now. They have less of an expectation of being taken No. 1. But if you trade down, you have to realistically understand that you may not get your guy. This guys is being touted as a really, really hot defensive prospect. Given that he fields a huge need for many teams on the draft board (pass rushing lineman) I'd say you could almost plan on losing a chance to draft him if you trade down. New Orleans would probably take him at No. 2.

I agree that Mario would probably take a lesser contract than Bush, the million dollar question is how much less is he willing to take? That could end up making all the difference in who goes #1. I also agree that they don't blindly trade down hoping to get him and risk losing out on both players, the only way they think about trading down for this would be to take Bush at #1 and then trade him to the Jets for Mario and whatever picks if Mario falls to them, and if he doesn't fall then they just hang on to Bush. However, if they believe that strongly in Mario that they would want him over Reggie Bush then they should take him at #1. If they are somewhat indifferent between Mario and Reggie and would take Reggie but would prefer Mario + extra picks, then take Bush #1 and hope Mario falls to #4, the Jets take him, and that the Jets are willing to send him and a couple picks to us for Reggie. If the Texans really do prefer Reggie to Mario, then take him at #1.
