Imagine it is Saturday and Tagliabue walks to the podium with the first overall selection. What would be your reaction in each of the following scenarios?
They stay put and take: 1. Reggie Bush 2. Vince Young 3. Mario Williams 4. Other They trade down: 5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection 6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart Also, if we traded down, what is the lowest you would be willing to go? If you want us to stay put, just answer "1".

1. I'll be happy
2. Nobody values VY as the #1 pick. I would have been fine with us trading down to take him, if Carr wasn't just extended. 3. A bit dissapointed, but I'd get over it. |

Given our true needs, given we already have a QB, given we already have a good RB with another RB with excellent potential - you take Mario Williams.

1. Reggie Bush
I'll be okay with it. 2. Vince Young I'll be okay with it. 3. Mario Williams I'll probably punch a wall and yell something obscene. 4. Other They trade down: 5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection Sounds great to me. 6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart Good, I guess. |

We have to stay in the top 4 picks AND my happiness for who we get depends on the position from where we got them.
If this MessageBoard supported PivotTables and excel spreadsheets, I could easily post a graphical representative matrix of my happiness/player/draft position contentment. To put it simply, if we draft at #1, bush makes me the happiest, anywhere else, Williams makes me the happiest. |

Given all those scenarios I will take a deep breath, and cherr on the newest Texan, or the prospect of getting even more new Texans.
Oh and I would like to stay in the top 6 spots. |

I'm OK if they pick Williams or trade down for chart value. I'm also OK with them drafting Young only if they pre-work a deal to get some serious value for David Carr. I see that as a freaking pipedream so I'm not too focused on it at this point.
As for the trade down, I'd be OK with dropping down as low as 6 for the first return 1st rounder. I'd like to see the early picks go to 2 defensive players (one rush end and one cover corner). Later picks would fill in positions such as OL, TE, DE, LB and more DB prospects. IMO, we don't need RB, QB (unless we are going for a wholesale change with Young and planning to trade Carr for some SERIOUS value) or WR. I'll probably be disappointed when they end up picking Reggie. |

i'll be sad for a brief moment if they take reggie bust, and anything else i'll be excited about.

really i just see it as a choice between Mario and Reggie and i would be happy with either.
a trade down with the jets or SF would be very interesting in my opinion and id watch every minute of day 1 then with #4/#6, #22/#29,#33, #35/#37, #65,#66 |

They're all busts until they play an NFL game or two. Come on, now. I don't want us to take VY...but I won't stoop to the level of saying he's going to be a bust. Only an injury is going to stop Bush from doing pretty well in the NFL. |

1. Reggie Bush - i'd be okay with it
2. Vince Young - i'd probably kill someonne 3. Mario Williams - i'd be extremely happy 4. Other - anyone other than d'brickshaw i'd be upset, except MAYBE AJ They trade down: 5. We get significantly more value than the draft value chart rates the #1 selection - i'd be so happy i'd cry 6. We get roughly the same draft value as the chart - as long as we land d'brick or mario i'd be pleased.
