Chargers shopping CB Sammy Davis

CHARGERS SHOPPING TRIO OF VETS A league source tells us that the San Diego Chargers currently are shopping three veteran players -- safety Hanik Milligan, cornerback Sammy Davis, and linebacker Donnie Edwards.

Davis' deal runs through 2009, with relatively manageable salaries.

Would Sammy Davis be better than P-burnt? I haven't kept up with his career but he is only 26. Last year was fairly unspectacular with only 25 tackles and 3 passes defended with no INTs. But he is from A&M...

There aren't many good things that come from a 2-14 season. One would be getting the first pick in every round of the draft. Another is getting first shot at claiming guys off the waiver wire. The Texans would be best served by waiting until guys are waived, thus saving draft choices.
