Wink This Buds for you

Pretty funny thread. The reality of Bud Adams is starting to sink in.

Quote:
Let's hope that this incident isn't the dawning of the hands-on Bud Adams that long-time Oiler fans know very well. Bud's dealings with people were the main reason that the Oilers could not get a new stadium deal with Houston. After moving to Tennessee, Bud botched the Memphis and Vanderbilt deals so badly that the NFL stepped in and told him to take a back seat. Jeff Diamond was brought in as Team President. With Diamond in place to keep Bud away, the team had a successful run from 1999 through 2003. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that the Titans have gone 9-23 since Diamond was fired and Bud took over as Team President. Let's hope we don't see what happens if the Titans pull another 4 or 5 win season.

Very interesting, indeed. Some things never change, 'eh?

If they punk Steve McNair, the last of the Houston Oilers will be gone from the Titans. So I will have nothing but spite now for our division rival.

I wish onto Tennessee only what they deserve, and they are getting it.

Bud Who?
Good riddance to trouble.
You make your own bed.
So, Bud can wallow in his own slop.
Too bad for the Titan fans. It's not their fault.

Interesting.... You never know with ol' Bud.

How old is he now, close to 80? Anyone have an idea of what will happen to the team after he's gone? Does he have any other family that is involved with the organization? I know his son died 10 years ago or more....

Even though he's not a player, I'll consider them totally Oiler free when Jeff Fisher is gone. Which may not be long after McNair.

Default As if people needed yet another reason to think Bud Adams sucks....

Link to USA Today article

Quote:
McNair's agent, Bus Cook, initiated talks with the NFLPA after the team barred McNair from Baptist Sports Park on April 3. The Titans have liability concerns because of McNair' $23.46 million salary cap number and $9 million base salary. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Titans would be responsible in the event McNair is injured on team property.

Cook said the Titans should allow McNair to work out with his teammates or consider releasing him now since the two sides are going nowhere in contract talks.

"Steve deserves to be treated better after he's done so much for them," Cook said.

Although the Titans probably won't open their doors for McNair unless forced to do so, they have pointed him to a place where he could stay in good condition D1 Sports Fitness in Franklin.

Will Bartholomew, CEO and president of D1 Sports, said Saturday he has spoken to Titans strength and conditioning coach Steve Watterson about training McNair.

The Titans sent McNair a letter with Bartholomew's name and address, and told McNair it would pay him $110 per day (the amount players are paid each day of the offseason program) for each day he worked out with Bartholomew.

So, who would you rather have as commisioner: Bud Adams, Al Davis, or MONARCH?
