Is this what you want to see happen or what you think will happen? If this is what you think will actually happen then all I can really say is wow.

I could think of some other word other than wow. Holy crap!!!! No way does something like this go down and no way do the Texans, under any circumstances, take V. Young.

If that 'was' to happen, i'm taking V. Davis. Noway he falls to #15.

Of course I doubt the trade for VY goes down, if its too outragous to stomich just focus on the prospects order and the needs they will address for each team. But I would not mind at all if this could actually be pulled off and to date as good as anyone elses ideas of drafting both Bush & Young

look at the team who drafts him Buffalo, who had the #8 pick & traded it away to the Broncos (trade up to get DeAngelo Williams) & still get him- plus pick up Broderick Bunkley. Bills fans should be doing cartwheels

I didn't mean wow in that sense, more like wow, that is absolutely not going to happen. The Texans are not going to eeven consider the notion of moving back into the 1st round, especially that high, unless they are ripping someone off with a trade offer.

As for the rest of the mock:

I think the Jets/Saints swap will likely happen, the Saints have basically come out and directly said they really like A.J. Hawk and will take him, and they don't need to use the #2 pick on him and can trade back a couple spots, but need to stay in front of the 49ers in order to get him, and the Jets could look to move in front of the Titans and grab Leinart.

I don't see the Broncos moving up for a RB, they never take RBs high in the draft and always produce successful running games anyways. I could almost see them moving up for Vernon Davis to give them that great TE threat that they've been lacking since Shannon Sharpe left, and I could see the 49ers moving down and taking the #15 and 22 if it was offered to them, but in the end I think the Broncos will stay where they are. With the #15 and 22 picks they can grab Chad Jackson and Mathia Kiwanuka/Tamba Hali to fill two positions of need with great players.

I like Eric Winston a lot but I'm not sure he goes quite that high.

I don't see Vernon Davis falling that far. TEs don't have as high of value as most other positions but Vernon Davis is a great prospect (Winslow went in the top 5-6 a coupld years ago) and most of the teams high in the draft need a TE, so I don't see him making it out of the top 8.

I think Bunkley will end up going higher than that. Many people now think Bunkley will go ahead of Ngata since so many defensive systems prefer the more athletic linemen that can penetrate the line and get up field rather than just plugging holes.

I don't see Addai making it into the 1st round. Every question everyone has ever had about Reggie Bush's game (i.e. durability, handling heavy workload, running between tackles, etc) applies to Addai and is magnified even more than with Bush.

Other than that, your choices are very different from mine but you don't really have many reaches and I could see most of the rest of this draft happening, although I personally think many of these picks won't happen quite like this, but overall pretty good other than the few things I pointed out here.

I really don't like to include trades in a Mock Draft especially if its trying to forecast what actually happens, but they always do. so I would make some changes if I where betting the farm or something but of the 32 prospects (with the possible exception of Addai, who was selected to replace E.J.) I feel most everyone will wind up grading out as likey 1st rd. selections, in reality thats about all you can do, then you try and match them up to the best situation not only for them but for the team as well.

Winston I graded higher than I would have liked because I feel he has taken great care in his rehab and once he is disected, poked & prodded he will get a clean bill of health. Before getting hurt he was easily a top 10 pick (last year) so its really not that much of a reach if he does check out plus this addresses the Cards #1 need, I really don't think they should pass up a franchise LT.

Vernon Davis is a tremendous prospect, but from a football slate what has he accomplished? if I'm making the investment in him top 10 I would like more productivity, records etc.....if your point applys for RB's in Denver's system the same would apply for TE's. this draft is deep in the TE position & Denver could easily wait to address this need in a latter round, but a franchise RB like DeAngelo Williams, in my opinion is not only a safer pick but a addresses a truely breakout addition @ RB where they are not as deep as one may think.

I don't see Bunkley as any better than Travis Johnson, very close in fact & the Texans took him last year @ #16. combine that with the fact this years draft is much deeper especially with all the Jr's leaving early around the 20th spot seems about right otherwise some team is making a reach to address a need rather than taking the bpa. Concerning Ngata to my knowledge I'm the first one to have him dropping out of the top 10.....IMO

but thanks for the feedback, good stuff

I definitely see the Colts taking a RB at #30 if one of the big 4 (Bush, White, DeAngelo, Maroney) fall, but I don't think they'd take Addai that high. I know the Colts really like DeAngelo Williams as he is very similar to Edge, but I don't think they'll trade up to get one of them, and I think if those four RBs are gone then they will probably go defense at #30.

Eric Winston is personally my favorite OT in this draft, and I agree that the Cardinals #1 need is on their OLine, but I think this is still a little high for Winston. My latest mock I had Vince Young falling to #10 and the Cardinals taking him, but if Vince isn't there then I could see them looking at defense (maybe Bunkley or Michael Huff if he's there) or I could see them looking to trade back a few picks and grabbing Winston there. In that sense they are somewhat similar to the Saints (they have said they really like Hawk and basically said they are going to draft him, but they don't need to spend that high of a pick on him).

I just don't see the Broncos moving up for a RB. Over the last 10 years they've proven they can take later round RBs and make them excel in their system, and with Tatum Bell (speedy RB) and Ron Dayne (power RB) I think they are somewhat set there, although I could definitely see them using another later round pick on a RB after losing Mike Anderson.

Bunkley is much better than Travis Johnson, he was easily the better DT between the two in 2004. He is much more athletic, much stronger, and higher energy/motor than Travis and is supposed to have a better work ethic. I wish we could trade Johnson back for Bunkley. Either way Ngata is a huge athlete and a good player, but many teams are now preferring the more athletic guys that can get up the field and create problems in the backfield (more like Bunkley) than the guys that just plug up running lanes (Ngata), I see both going quite high and either one being the top DT taken, it just depends on what team is there and who they prefer for their defense.

I guess I can see Vince Young falling out of the top five, but does anyone honestly see Al Davis passing on Vince Young? Plus, might not Detroit take a QB since they are jettisoning Harrington in favor of two journeymen. That would be perfect for them considering they can play one of the two veterans for a year or two if need be, but no one would be too bent out of shape if VY won the job outright.

I will say this. The idea of giving DC real competition is intriguing. I think he does need to be pushed even though a lot of his problems could be blamed on coaching and personnel. Personally, I think that is a dream scenario (getting immediate impact at #1 and getting VY) and I think the Texans would be open to doing it just for the PR bonanza. However, I tend to agree it is far-fetched at best.

yes it is far-fetched, but regardless if something did happen it would be along those lines. I don't see Vince dropping out of the Top 10 and for some reason I get the impression anything is possible with Detroit (if they don't draft VY themselves and turn him into a WR ) this package is close to what it would take to pry that pick away from them (the Texans 1st next year, plus the coveted 1st picks of the 2nd & 3rd rds. this year) I know it's alot but Vince Young would be worth it. I would not do it for anyone else that late in the draft, but if he slips as some think it might be "under consideration"

No way Vernon Davis falls down that low.....

Also why would Denver trade up to draft DeAngelo Williams when they have a clear shot to get DeAngelo Williams/LenDale White/Maroney with their #15.....if Denver trades up they would most likely pick Vernon Davis, screwing it up for the Bills

Also a #15 and #22 can get Denver a #4-6

Other than that the mock draft is pretty good i guess

several of you guys have echo'ed the same thought, both think highly of Vernon Davis (Top 10 pick) and that Denver can make any back look good. the answear to both maybe yes, however generally a top rated RB trumps a top rated TE any day. I happen to be of the opinion that DeAngleo will be as close to a guarenteed NFL star at RB as Carnell "Cadillac" Williams was last year. put him into Denvers offense and he will get 1500 + yds as a rookie, but the beauty of him is his durable build, his vision to find the holes and relentless effort (big heart). He reminds me so much of Emmitt Smith (yes I know he was a Cowboy) one of the most successful RB's in NFL history.

Your probably right that Denver will wait to see who falls to them. Maroney would also fit in the system & be a very productive back or they could get lucky and DeAngelo might just be there & if he did they would be very fortunate indeed

thanks y'all for the feedback had to make adjustments due to USC Pro Day results. While everyone (rightfully so) was focused on Bush with his great workout (4.33, I predicted a 4.34) Winston Justice just rake'ed a bundle of cash while Lendale White came away as a head scratcher by being unable to log in a 40 then lifted only 15 times. The only player who I'm still not sold on is Vernon Davis, he seems like the wildcard of the draft who could go anywhere from 6-15.

1 Texans - Reggie Bush, RB USC

2 Jets (via Saints, for #4 overall plus this years #29) Matt Leinart, QB USC

3 Titans- D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT Virginia

4 Saints - (via Jets) A.J. Hawk, LB Ohio State

5 Packers- Mario Williams, DE North Carolina St.

6 49ers- Michael Huff, CB/S

7 Raiders - Jay Cutler, QB Vanderbuilt

8 Broncos - (via Bills) DeAngelo Williams, RB Memphis

9 Texans - (via Lions for 2007 #1 plus this years 33rd & 65th picks) Vince Young, QB Texas

10. Cardinals- Winston Justice, OT USC

11 Rams- Jimmy Williams, CB/FS VT

12 Browns- Haloti Ngata, NT Oregon

13 Ravens- Chad Greenway, LB Iowa

14 Eagles- Santonio Holmes, WR OSU

15 Bills - (via Falcons, via Broncos) Vernon Davis, TE Maryland

16 Dolphins- Chad Jackson, WR Florida

17 Vikings- Laurence Maroney, RB Minnesota

18 Cowboys- Marcus McNeil, OT Auburn

19 Chargers- Eric Winston, OT Miami

20 Chiefs- Johnathan Joseph, CB South Carolina

21 Patriots- Manny Lawson, DE North Carolina State

27 Panthers- LenDale White, RB USC

28 Jaguars- Ashton Youboty, CB Ohio State

29 Saints- (via Jets via Broncos) Mathias Kiwanuka, DE Boston College

You do this mocking a lot more than I do Beerlover, and I would never say never... under this scenario, if davis goes befor huff, I'd make the deal for huff.
Not Young. At least we'd be for certain there would not be one team out there that could put Reggie on the pine at crunch time. I think VY is falling so hard, if you hold your water, he'll be there @ 33. jmho

its pure wishfull thinking on my part that VY falls this far, I don't think he will, but for the Texans to have a shot at him something along these lines would have to happen

the recent events in Tennessee by Titans owner Bud Adams of locking Steve McNair out the practice complex indicates they want to go another direction. this should be a red flag for VY his friend & Cutler is coming in for a workout this week if he blows them away & Leinart is gone I'm of the opinion he will be their pick not D'Brick.

This would be nice Donte Whitner would fall right to us. Or would we take McNeil? If one of the big 4 tackles falls we might have to go in that direction.

Critical points: Just my opinion but I don't see the Saints going Kiwi haven't they been waiting on secondary help they might go Whitner or Allen if either is around. I can't see the Bears going with more D they might take McNeil so I just took the two guys I would want in this circumstance off our board so hopefully I am wrong. Vikes just picked up Taylor hard to see them going with yet another RB. Very realistic though for the most part.

Good Question. I still have not made up my mind who the Texans will/would select with that 1st pick of the 2nd rd.

Whitner or McNeil might be good selections, that would solidfy the Safety or RT position. The problem I'm having is I like a couple players that might not be there in the 3rd but would be too early to take #33. The Texans have addressed several needs via free agency, I'm hoping that Kubiac can resurect Phillip Buchanon (draft equivalent Kelly Jennings) Todd Wade (Andrew Whitworth) & Jason Babin (Tamba Hali) then the Texans can truely draft the bpa.

It would be sweet if the Texans could get the best MLB prospect in the draft, someone who eats up tacklers, can cover the RB's & TE's plus bring some fear factor/leadership behind the tackles. I'm open to suggestions- none seem to be good enough to justify this high of pick so would the Texans reach on D'Qwell Jackson or Abdul Hodge or wait til the 3rd rd.

back to Whitner, who is rated higher him or Ko Simpson? Marcus McNeil or Daryn Colledge? then which would be the better fit for the Texans?
