Thats weird because if you look up at the top, "note regarding Vince Young" or whatever says that if he falls past Oakland, expect Arizona or Baltimore to draft him. Yet none of those are listed as having him selected....

Remember, this is Ourlads' projection based on their draft grades. Not what they think NFL teams might do (ala Mel Kiper).

segments over ..... Lance & John never mentioned Vince Young ... anyone else find that odd? Why they wouldn't ask him about Young's absence from the first round in his mock?

Lance & John (and a couple of callers) asked questions about the Texan's 2nd round pick possibilities but again Young was never mentioned ... Marcus McNeil, Winston, D Ryans, .....
Lance & John also wasted about 45 seconds reading an email from Cowboy Steve .... what's up with that?

I have heard many "second round steals" lately on this MB. But you can't argue this: Young in the second round is a STEAL. It's a good thing there aren't any more draft tests, or he may slip further - third rounder.

the focus is off the #1 pick for now, we'll all have a better idea after USC has its Pro-Day this Sunday, but Shonka also mentioned Mario Williams as deserving the #1 overall selection Hawk being the type of defensive leader New Oreleans covets (meaning they will probably be willing to trade down).
alot of time spent on the Texans needs and who will be there in the 2nd rd. one of the top prospects who I never thought being there for the Texans in the 2nd rd. is DE Tamba Hali, Dan seems to think he could slip to the 2nd rd. because he ran slower than expected and at a lower weight. I've watched him play for Penn State several times and he could be a star in the making, has great work ethic, non-stop motor and would compete with Peek for the starting job. also mentioned Andrew Whitworth as one of the most under-rated tackles and could come in and start @ RT. of course alot of us locally who follow LSU football know he will be a solid pro, excellent leadership skills with the size and strength to compete right away in the NFL. mentioned Gerris Wilkinson, ILB Georgia Tech worthy of a high 2nd (although I'm not a big fan of their football program, Tony Hollings alma mater). |

It's a crappy draft, a really crappy draft BUT...it does show that its hard to find many people outside the 610 loop that think we need VY over Reggie...not saying you make draft choices based on that, it's just interesting.
