What does New Orleans want for #2???

What are our chances NOW to pick up the #2 spot on the draft and have our cake and eat it too (DRAFT Vince & Reggie). Can you dream about it??

What if we picked up T.O. as well.- We would finally get a Monday Night Game!!!

This pretty much means we CAN'T trade out of the no1 spot unless someone desperatly wants Bush.

On the plus side this means the Titans WILL take Leinart and not Young, so all those Longhorn Homers won't cry out in despair.

Seeing as there was never a chance for this to happen, I'd say nothing has changed with the Saints signing of Brees.

Hopefully this is the last we hear of this rumor.

Off topic: What is so special about Young? He looked average against average defences this season, if he was so damn special he'd have won the Heisman and the Nobel Peace Prize. He's great 'cause he ran over and around linebackers in the Rose Bowl - but you can't do that in the NFL!

Bush isn't perfect either, and doesn't strike me as a between-the-tackle runner, but he's got tremendous upside and if we use him the right way (A true HB - passing and running) then he should do good.

All this means for US is that it means we won't get nearly as good a deal if we try to trade down, because someone else is trying to trade down, too.

I think the Saints will be flexible. Instead of aiming for a specific guy, they'll take whoever makes the richest offer, then take the best player available wherever they end up after that.

The real question is, who is going to take the Saints' pick. I think the top three choices are the Jets, the Raiders, and the Vikings.

You're wrong. The subject has been beaten to death, and Young has faced very good defenses last season. Reggie Bush is the one who played against cupcake defenses. The Heisman does not mean the player who wins it projects to be the best pro player, so I don't know why you'd even try to argue that. Most Heisman winners end up failing in the NFL. Vince not only can run around anyone, but he was also the most efficient passer in the country, better than Jay Cutler, better than Matt Leinart. If you don't think he did anything special in college, you didn't watch enough college football. Just drop it right now, because the whole Young vs. Bush vs. trade down thing has been argued a billion times.

UT avg 50 points a game further proves that they didn't play a bunch of really good D's; just the one in Colombus.

And I'm not bashing VY, just pointing out that while he dominated the competation he faced, it was by no means a tough road to hoe. The same can and should be said about Reggie Bush.

My point was that neither VY or RB played a monster schedule, and therefore it should not be held against either of them.

For what it's worth, I think VY was the best, and most valueable, player in college football last year (and maybe the year before that).

Not a chance. What would we trade for the #2 now? Speculation from VY people before was that David Carr would be part of the deal, but with Brees they have no reason to want Carr, besides if we ended up with #1/2 (especially without trading Carr) I think it would be Bush and Mario, that would be a tasty draft to me if we could make it happen, at least until we sign the two players to $100 million worth of total contracts.

The Raiders and Vikings would definitely be possibilities to have their choice of QBs, the Vikings might be far enough down to not be able to easily afford the trade, and I'm not sure the Jets would move up, I think they would only move up for Bush at this point, and they'd need to get to #1 for that.

I can see the arguement for most valuable player in college last year, but in 2004? Let's not get carried away, but let's also not bring that argument back either.
