QB: Carr, Ragone, Rosenfels - looks like we're done here
HB: Davis, Wells, Morency - I guess RB talk goes here FB: Norris, Cook - Definitely finished WR: A Johnson - no need to look elsewhere WR2: HOLE. WR3: Mathis/Gaffney/Armstrong? - I guess this is where Walter will fit in WR4: Mathis/Gaffney/Armostrong? TE: Bruener, Rivers - Definite hole LT: Pitts - I consider this an upgradeable slot LG: McKinney - Long term deal now C: Hodgon - Definite hole, as starting an unproven guy at C is risky RG: Wiegert - Expensive, so hole here RT: Wade, Wand - I'd love to believe they could do it. SDE: Weaver - fills this hole nicely DT: TJ, Payne, Smith - Probably the strongest rotation we have anywhere WDE:Babin, Peek - Coaching staff thinks they can do it OLB: Greenwood - Back to his comfort spot at weakside OLB ILB: Wong, Polk - I'm not sure how they fits into a 4-3 ILB role, so possible hole OLB: Orr, ? - He had a good end of season, but is he really a lock for the spot? CB1: DRob - Solid starter CB2: PBuch - Yech, but maybe the new coverage schemes and pass rush will allow him to shine. I say hole FS: No one SS: Brown - I'd like a guy with a little more coverage ability here, but I guess he did OK So in retrospect, it looks like we have gaping holes at: #2 Wide Receiver Tight End Center Right Guard (assuming Wiegert leaves) OLB ILB #2 CB FS We'd better get to work!!

Wong played MLB when he was with the Vikings and did a better job as a MLB in the 4-3 than he has done with us in the 3-4.

Glenn Earl did a decent job at FS at the end of last season. He's definentally upgradable but I believe he can hold his own untill we have the chance to snag a probowler.

#2 Wide Receiver - Hopefully we will sign someone out of the Free Agency to fill this slot. Those that I think are good enough that are left are ( Troy Brown) (Nate Burleson) (Kevin Curtis)
Tight End - Hopefully we take care of this in the free agency too...Im not really familiar with any of the tight ends in the FA but hopefully we can find one whos better then what we have and if not then hopefully in the draft 3rd - 4th rd. Center - I really beleive this guy did a decent job and will grow into a fine center in the league. Maybe some depth needed here for a rotation but I think he will be alright. Right Guard (assuming Wiegert leaves) - Wiegert I hope leaves. IMO hes garbage and is only a salary hit for us. The free agency is open with OL's but we havent seemed to look at any in there yet. Hopefully we get on top of that. OLB - I really like Orr to feel this in. Hes proved alot to me. Greenwood can hold his side too. Alot better then he did at MLB. Hopefully he really has a improvement this year. ILB - Wong to me can maybe hold this position but I really think we need to find a bigger stronger MLB who's more established and throw wong in a OLB rotation. Polk may do alright here. I guess we will have to see. #2 CB - Even through everyones complaints I still like P-Buc. I think he had a bad season last year but then again our coaches did a horrible job which made alot of our players look worse then they really are. I think the 4-3 will really let him shine again and he will do alot better this year. If he doesnt show up this year I think next year will be the year to replace him. FS - If we dont find someone in the free agency then Casserly needs to be shot. Heres who we have to look at just in the FA. (Chris Hope) (Lawyer Malloy) Theres other players in the FA we could look at too...I mean ****...If not we can look in the draft but I think we will find on here. BTW - According to ESPN.com Derrick Armstrong and Gaffney are free agents. |
