Default Broncos interested in deal for Abraham

http://www.newsday.com/sports/footba...orts-headlines

With labor peace and a $102- million salary cap sure to inject some energy into the free-agency and trading period that begin tonight at midnight, the Jets might be closing in on perhaps the biggest transaction of coach Eric Mangini's brief reign.

Several teams remain interested in trading for defensive end John Abraham, and a person with knowledge of the situation said yesterday that the Broncos have been the most aggressive team pursuing the man who pursues quarterbacks as well as anyone in the NFL.

The Falcons also are evaluating their options about a trade for Abraham, who probably will command a first-round pick in next month's draft. The Falcons have the 15th pick, while the Broncos have the 22nd and 29th.

Very productive, gets to the QB and makes plays when he arrives, still young at 28 years old....any more questions??

I think it's more of a case of Abraham no longer wants to be w/ the Jets, they are in salary cap trouble, and he demands a large sum. I wouldn't necessarily say that they don't "want him."

does it matter?? either way the jets aren't going to keep him long term so they'll take what they can get now
