Some notable performances:

A.J. Hawk running a 4.42/4.49 will help raise his stock again after Vernon Davis and Michael Huff had probably passed him up. Hawk didn't run the 40 at the combine but looked good in most of the drills and displayed good athleticism in the shuttle etc, so adding this solid 40 time will help him out.

Santonio Holmes running a 4.34/4.36 will help him out. He didn't work out at the combine (I'd heard one person say he planned to but had been sick) and Chad Jackson put up a very nice performance and had probably passed Santonio as the #1 WR, but this might regain some ground for Santonio and put him back at #1, although Jackson had comparable and better times and is a lot bigger.

Bobby Carpenter's 4.66/4.68 40 times weren't great but weren't bad (trainers said he was only 90% health). He had a pretty solid combine too, and these times don't really help or hurt that.

Donte Whitner running a 4.37/4.39 should help him out a lot. I was kind of hoping we could get him in the 3rd or maybe even 4th round, but after putting up those times he's back up there in the list of safeties and could maybe even make a push for the 1st round depending on what teams need at the end of the 1st.

Ashton Youboty ran a 4.43/4.45, which aren't real impressive for a CB, and he's not an overly big CB to make an excuse for it. I'm not sure if this really hurts his stock but it definitely doesn't help it.

Maurice Stovall's 4.54/4.57 40s and 32.5 inch vertical aren't very impressive, he could maybe fall a little among WRs in this draft, although he is a big target.

Chris Chester sounds like he impressed again. The more I hear about this guy the more I really hope he falls to us in the 4th round, I think he'd be a great player for our zone blocking scheme.

Dusty Dvoracek's 4.79/4.81 times should help a lot. He fell from grace after being suspended for a year, but he had a decent Senior Bowl and Combine and it sounds like this workout will help his stock continue rising.

Victor Adeyanju ran a 4.68/4.69 which should help keep his stock high and keep him towards the top of the DE group in this draft.

Sinorice Moss added a 42 inch vertical onto his solid Combine performance.

Devin Hester ran his 40 in 4.32/4.37 which I think is a pretty drastic improvement over his Combine times, these are more like the times I expected to see from him.

Jaxson Appel ran his 40s in 4.46/4.53, which is a solid performance that might help him get drafted after being passed over for a Combine invitation.

Danieal Manning ran a 4.42/4.47 which I think was a slight improvement over his Combine times. He would be an interesting FS/CB combo that will likely be available at #65/66 and could warrant some consideration from the Texans.

Any other comments from these workouts or any prospects that have changed your opinions of them?

Hawk DID run the 40 at the combine. Watched him run in those funny white tights. He was disappointed in his times (First-4.61 and second was a high 4.5) and expected to run in the 4.4's. That is a considerable decrease in time and should definitely help his draft status.

Yeah, I forgot about that since he posted times around 4.6 and wasn't near the top of the LB group.

I predict that which ever team picks Hawk will be getting a future All Pro for years to come. He has all the tools and appears to have his head on straight. Carries himself well and I admire his tribute to Pat Tillman.

If Hawk goes to a 43 team he will look good, but he will not be the next great thing. If he goes to SF and takes the ILB spot in their 34 then he will look like a freakin stud. Bottomline his play style fits the ILB 34 perfectly, but as a WOLB he is another athletic LB a better version of a good chase and tackle guy.

He has the athleticism, toughness, and aggressiveness, but I've heard that he doesn't recognize plays real quickly, but once he does he gets there in a hurry. I've heard some people mention that Schlegel and Carpenter were the ones that read and reacted to plays quicker but Hawk was physically fast enough that once he saw the play unfolding he could make up for his delayed reaction with his athleticism.
