Just four days after displaying his skills for hundreds of NFL executives at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Bowling Green junior quarterback Omar Jacobs held a private audition on his home turf in front of a smaller audience who attended the Delray Beach native's Pro Day. At least 12 NFL organizations were represented, including the Dolphins, to watch Jacobs go through a series of throwing drills for about 40 minutes at the indoor Perry Field House on campus Thursday evening. Also represented among the 20 to 25 spectators were the Giants, Jets, Seahawks, Texans, Buccaneers and Colts.

I say we do what we do in the draft and not take Jacobs, then we should take jacobs with some of our next year picks.
Or stop cutting players and trade them to the team that takes Jacobs. Cuz, Someone will need him and just think about it, could he be the one to take over carrs spot. that would allow us to trade Carr and get some good picks and then..........wait im getting ahead of myself we havent even taken him yet.

I'm going to take some heat for this, but I am predicting right now that Jacobs > Vince

I have not seen enough of Jacobs to even warrant an opinion on your prediction. The market will bear out what the pros think. Jacobs may wind up being a better value down the road, but VY is clearly the better prospect in my opinion.

The NFL Scouts only said their were 3 things wrong with Jacobs
1.Must build upper body strength 2.Hasn't played against a lot of good talent at CB or S 3.Must fix is throwing motion(They think he pushes the ball instead of throwing it.) If he can fix those things in about 10-12 yrs in the NFL I think he will be perfectly fine adapting from College to Pro.

He has a REALLY interesting throwing motion. Like DD76 said it looks like he is pushing the ball out. To me, it sort of looked like a shot putting motion. Looked real strange, but he was putting it on target.

As I stated in another Jacobs thread a few days ago, watch the tape of this guy at the combine and listen to what the hosts on the NFL Network said about this guy......Pushes the ball somewhat like a shot put motion, weak arm by NFL standards and a PROJECT at qb. After watching the combine rerun over and over, I don't know where people are getting the notion of this guy even being drafting on the first day come from.
Just flip it over to the NFL channel and judge for yourself. |
