So all I'm hearing these days is that VY is slipping in the draft. Some people have him going at around 6 or 7. And I'm thinking, can we have our cake and eat it, too?
A trade down to 4 might just do it. Leinart goes at 1 to the Jets. Cutler at 2 to N.O. Bush at 3 to the Titans. And VY to us at 4. And we have the Jets' high 2nd and maybe another 1st next year? What's not to like? If VY is not there at 4 we take Brick. Or Cutler. Or Leinart. Or Bush. If all four of these players are premium, and if winners can be built a variety of different ways, why not step back and pick up another excellent pick and take the spoils in this very good top of draft? And imagine if we did this AND managed to trade Carr for a low 1st rounder and maybe a 3rd? Then you take the leftover QB (Cutler or Young) and you've got two more picks to play with. Now you're looking at what, 7 picks in the first 75? Maybe it's too good to be true? |

Cutler Will be taken in the 7 to 10 range there's no way vince falls past 3 i think just my opinion the player that will slide and can slide all the way to 4 is reggie bush lets face it no other franchise would pick a running back/special teamer 1st overall.

I was all for getting Vince here but we could use a DE LT.Even if you guys want Bush is ok but its not that important to me.I don't think Dallas would go get Young but Tennessee I think thats there real target.
I agree Nighthawk that a move down is good but we may not get the impact players we want.I think Mario Williams and D'Brick will be probowlers.Any time you can move back and get a player like that and still get a early second that could be a first that fell will help the team. That would possibly be 3 instant starters that could impact. We don't have to get 10 wins this year, our focus should be to get solid talent and reduce the Offensive and defensive ranking from 30 to about 15 or better. That would be a major success in the first year for any new coach. If we can start working and tinkering with the ranking will find what broke and has to be fixed next year.
