Did anyone see the segement on nfl playbook on the nfl network on the suprising stat of fair catches. The top 5 teams with the most fair catches all made the playoffs, including new england and carolina. The texans were second from the bottom wit a total of 8 fair catches and the people at the top had sumthin like 28. The only team being at the bottom and making the playoff was the rams. Do you think the intelligence of your returnman has to do with your team going to the playoffs or it jus proves shows the intlleggence of the coach and know that speacial teams is 1/3 of the game and you must be good at all 3 parts offense defense and special teams.

I would say that teams who have better defenses > make teams punt more > make more fair catches.

I agree with clandestin. Most teams that are in the playoffs have better defenses so they have more chances...
