Im Pro Bush to let you know; but there's always a price, and here's my all of all Godfather deals that would make me say I love you bush but I love this deal more.
Oakland Trades #6 overall,This years 2nd round pick, and next years 1st and Robert Gallery to the Texans fot the #1 overall pick. That's the only way you can give up Reggie Bush.; and I'm the biggest Reggie Bush Supporter living in Los Angeles and Catching a few games in person;but this is the type of deal the Texans will make, nothing less.

I dont know, but it would be pretty big time. We get a LT/RT better than most of the OTs in the draft and we still get the number 6 pick so we could still conceivably get Mario Williams. Hell Gallery, Williams, Mangold, Joseph/Minter, Stovall, T.J. Williams and then our second day should be just icing on that cake.

Why would they want to get rid of Gallery. We've seen post on here that have stated over and over about how hard it is to get a quality tackle in this league. Heck, our team is a result of not having a quality tackle. Why would they want to get rid of a guy like Robert Gallery?

I'd love to have that deal but quite frankly Bush = Gallery doesn't work for me.
I'd take Gallery 9 out of 10 times over Bush.

Ok to make it fair.. i'll take their 1st this year, 3rd this year, Robert Gallery, and next years 1st; and that'll be right at the Brink of being a Godfather deal in my book...

The godfather of all trades would be: vilma,#4,#36 for #1-then we'd be in the envious position of choosing dbrick, mario, or hawk

I think the reason I find this "mock trade" so tantalizing is that if we could
get another young OT like Gallery to go along with Chester, we'd have our young "book end" tackles to anchor our OL for many years. And by picking #6in the Raiders slot, we'd probably miss "Super Mario" since he's gonna most likely be a top 5. But the upshot of this is we could actually end up with a RB with our top pick: not Bush of course at #6 but I think we might take DeAngelo Williams, the Memphis RB if we don't need a OT and the stud DE is off the Board. Sooner or later we should really upgrade Davis, and Williams has the kind of breakaway speed that Bush has. |

That would be a great trade, as it would lock up the OT spots for a while. At #6 we could snag Vernon Davis and seal up TE, too.

Kellen, #6 is an awfully high pick to use on a TE, especially in this years Draft which is strong at that position. I like Pope, the Georgia TE, and the USC guy Dominuque Byrd. We might catch a break and find one of those 2 guys on the Board with our #2. |

There are realistic godfather deals and then there unrealistic Godfather deals.
To me, a 'realistic' one, would be along the lines of the Manning/Rivers trade a couple of years ago. We give NY the 1st pick overall, we get the 4th pick overall, (D'Brick) their 3rd round this year, and their 1st pick next. That would work for me. Would that be "Godfather" enough for you? But it's fantasy anyway. NY has no reason in the world to trade up. Last edited by Almost Anybody; 02-12-2006 at 03:31 PM. |

Neither the Jets or the Raiders are in a position to trade up, they both are in CAP HELL being $29-30 million over the cap respectively, both are probably gonna have to release players just to lower their cap #'s, neither will sign any big name free agents because they have no money to do so, both teams were very bad and have lots of holes to fill, the NFL Draft is the cheapest and easiest way to fill their holes, which means neither will be looking to trade up but rather trading down is more likely the oppourtunity.
If you think I'm lying about their CAP #'s: http://www.askthecommish.com/salarycap/numbers.asp I highly doubt Tenn, NY Jets, nor Oakland will be looking to trade up. Too many holes to fill, can't be players in free agency, can only use the draft to add players to their rosters, which means they need all their picks and more if it can be acquired.

Well like some teams that have had cap problems they may look to trade up. Oakland is always pretty active on draft day, and Tannenbaum is much less conservative than Bradway. They both could be looking to lock down that big name player to help the pretty good core nucleus. Remember the Jets are one year removed from the divisonal playoffs. Yes, they will lose some players, mainly Ty Law, Kevin Mawae, Curtis Martin, a host of high salary older guys. They can easily make due with low cap-friendly free agents and mid round guys. Look for them to make some trades in the third and 4th rounds with teams like the Patriots who have more than one pick.
