Cowboys: Parcells spies a spy

Wednesday, August 11, 2004 "Head coach Bill Parcells questioned a man hanging around Cowboys practice on Tuesday and eventually had the Oxnard police interrogate the man and escort him off the facilities. "Do I have my suspicions about this person? Is that the question? Yes, I do. I don't know that they're warranted, but I'm attempting to find out. That's all I know right now," Parcells told the team's official web site. "I'm not paranoid about that, but this guy was strange. I picked him out myself. This guy was up to something. I don't know what it was. I can just tell, I can just tell when someone is here for some other reason. I can just tell." The reportedly well-dressed man somehow made it through security without a pass. You just can't find tape of unknown players like Vinny Testaverde, Eddie George, Keyshawn Johnson, and Terry Glenn, and we imagine that other NFL teams are resorting spying. Or Parcells is simply paranoid. We'll let you choose which is the more likely option." Yeah...they're veterans who have played a lot in the NFL. There is plenty of film on the guys that can be found. I can understand him being concerned about a guy that shouldn't be there, but he needs a different reason...

I believe they mentioned on NFL Live that he was trying to get a try out for the team. Guess he's a little late for that.

Maybe he couldn't make it to the NFL shop to get his authentic gear and decided to try that route (ala the commercial with the Giants fan).
