Default Let Kubiak Do His Job!

I am an avid Texas fan and a PSL owner. Let Kubes do his job and lets support him. If he thinks Carr is the man so be it. Kubes qualifications are certainly better than probably anyone on this board. I really like Vince but I also remember the A & M game where he was very rattled and almost lost his composure. I think it will be like that everyday in the NFL. Remember Kubes only has a 5 year contract and needs to win now!

I don't see anyone stopping him. I hope he does well. I think he is off to a good start.

Dead on post. We have to give the man our support and confidence. If he thinks Carr is the one...then let's see what they can accomplish together. Regardless, I think this will be a fun season!

So Kubes is a QB friendly coach all the more reason to consider taking the most gifted QB talent (Vince Young) in a long long time as well rejuvenate one thats been shell shocked in decline (David Carr) thats excellent value & a direction I'd support

Of course you're right Football. Here's a guy who played QB in HS, college, and was in the Pros for 10 years or so. Played with and or coached Young & Elway. I think that's a pretty impressive resume ?
But guaranteed, we will still will have people on this Board who work in a Bank,
a credit union, practice law, even sell cars for a living come out and dis
Kubiak like they have a clue what they're talking about.
Hey, but they've got their opinions though. Right ?

I like this hire as much as the next guy, but come on now. Nobody is perfect, and there have been several instances where us lawyers, bankers, and poker players (me) have been right about a prospect or position when the so called "experts" have got it wrong. I agree, let the man do his job, but he isnt above criticism or alternate opinions. His opinion that he can save carr doesnt make my opinion that carr is unsaveable invalid, just different.

Although I will reserve my comments on our situation after I see our hired coaching staff, the schemes that will be applied, and what we do in the draft; That was an excellent and a very articulate post...thanks SWT for your input and opinion.

Anyone has the right to speak thier mind even if it is contrary to your opinion. When it comes to coaching, particularly football in Texas, getting second guessed is part of the job.

I agree that we all have our opinions....BUT....

...wouldn't you agree that certain opinions carry more weight than others?

More specifically, if a talented, well-respected offensive coach like Kubiak has things to say about one David Carr, doesn't his opinion carry a little more weight than us mere fans?

Last time I checked, none of us were being interviewed by NFL teams for our opinions!

We are going to need everyone to stop getting in Kubiak's way. He can't do his job if we don't allow him. And while everyone is being congnizant of professional space, get off Carr's back as well. Since they are professionals they will not be able to perform due to fans having opinions.

If Kubiak can't take the heat of the fans then he should not have taken the job. I am sure he will do fine, but if a coach needs "coddling" how does that bode for our high priced shell shocked QB? Hugs for everyone, yeah!

heh-heh, funny! I bet in reality Kubiak is oblivious to what fans think or want. I doubt he spends a second of his day thinking about fan desires....which is a good thing, of course. Heck, he put up with rabid Broncos fans for a long, long time. H-town fans have nothing on the passion that Denver fans show for their team.

Carr has got his own problems, and he's on a very short leash in 2006 with the current mood of Texans fans. Some of us will give him some leeway to learn the ropes of a new offense, but I have no doubt that many other fans will fill Reliant Stadium with boos when he makes his first mistake. It's not a moment that I'm looking forward to.

no i dont think any opinion has more weight than mine. Im the most qualified person i know to make an opinion as a fan, and kubiak may be the most qualified to have an opinion as a coach. However, after 4 years of sub-500 football, where i didnt really protest any decisions the organization made, thinking it would be in the best interest of the franchise, im not quite willing to go blindly down the rabbit hole again.

As far as Kubiak's "qualifications," let's get real. I have just as much experience as an NFL head coach as he does and just as much experience at being an NFL sidelines coach as well.

Kubiak has more qualifications than every person on this board combined. He'll forget more about football than we'll every know. I think Kubiak gets the credit that he deserves.

Exactly!

I plan on giving DC the benefit of the doubt on the field for the first have of next season, but he doesn't show progress by then, the boos will come out and I will be one of them.

As far as this board is concerned, there are opinions that should carry more weight then mine, like Kubiak's. Since none of us are named Kubiak and since none of us know anymore then the other person, all weights are equal.

If you don't like it either don't read my post or there are filtering system you can use.

What does this have to do with HC experience? I do believe even the ground crew gets playoff shares.
