Quote from The Web Page
"The thing that’s really evident to me is that my Southern California players are much better than (Nolan’s) Texas players,” Fisher said. “There’s no question about that. I don’t know what happened in the national championship game, though.” - Jeff Fisher Fisher, a USC alumnus, obviously doesn’t hide his bias well. He certainly won’t win too many brownie points from Longhorn fans. Makes you wonder.... with a USC alumn at HC and Norm Chow at OC, how much they would much rather be at #1 or 2. Jeff, they lost Jeff....thats what happened....they lost. Last edited by Glacier; 01-25-2006 at 03:49 PM. |

Does make you wonde if anything was meant by that but i can't see the titans trading down just to potentially gat RB or ML because of the relationship of VY and McNair.

I don't see the Texans trading with the Titians at all, though....they are division rivals....
that is, unless the Titians mortgage the ranch to the point that they wouldn't have any drafts for the next few years. :P |

Well, the Titans need a RB and QB.....so why not?? I think that Cass is a genius and has been pushing the VY or RB envelope....that way, it would be apparent that if the Texans draft RB, NO gets ML.....leaving TEN with VY.
They want a PASS 1st QB...see how well Volek did when McNair went down?? If they (TEN) felt equally about VY and ML...why not draft the preferred one.....ML because of the USC ties AND the familiarity with Chow's offense. Why would Chow want to start all over with VY?? Or Jay Cutler for that matter? I wonder if TEN is getting the same heat from the public to draft Cutler (from Vanderbilt) like HOU fan/ public is trying to pressure Cass/McNair/Kube to draft VY? This should make for an interesting draft......we should know once the Texans "finalize" the offer 1 month prior to the draft!

That link is another ESPN Insider Pod Cast where Jeff Fisher is interviewed. He is coaching at the Senior Bowl and mentioned Jay Cutler. He did say, though he is a USC alumn, he has no doubt in his mind that Vince Young will be a star in the NFL. That said, I got the feeling that they might be looking at trading out of the #3 spot, perhaps down. could it be that the Titains might be leaning towards moving down and taking Jay Cutler? That really was the impression I got listening to him. He IS coaching Jay Cutler in the Senior Bowl. As was stated by someone else on this thread, perhaps the Titans are getting some pressure to pick Cutler. So question.... Lets say the draft goes down like this. 1. Houston - Reggie Bush 2. NO - Matt Wheinart 3. Tennesse trades down..... Who would be potential partners in a trade that would move Tennesee down and allows someone else to pick Vince Young? WOOT! More Draft intrigue! |

I would say the Lions since I can see VY heading there and connecting with the up and coming star in R. Willliams.

I think the Lions go with Defense.....
OAK might need a QB like VY. Why call him Wheinhart?? His name is Leinart. He did not whine as much as the King of the Whiners did last year...Mack Brown!

I would go with the Lions or the Cardinals. Outside shot at the Dolphins.

If the lions 1st choice in this year's draft is at the QB, then why wouldn,t they jump on the fact of drafting VY instead of cutler like many experts are saying they are heading towards anyways?

Maybe he was kidding. Otherwise what a moronic statement by Fisher. Like he would be able to tell anything about the NC game based on the few players from each team that are at the Senior Bowl practice.
I'll give him the benifit of the doubt and guess that he was saying it tounge-in-cheek.

The only scenario I could see the Titans trading up is if they really wanted Lineart ahead of New Orleans.

hmmm...well, they do have a D Line coach as their HC now; however, there is some need at QB. I would expect Detroit to try to pick up a Vet QB in free agency again, shop Joey Harrington around for anything at all they could get for him and probably draft D or O Line. I believe I read that they want to move to a power running game some where. I could be mistaken. |

my guess would be:
Jets Raiders Ravens as potential trade partners for Tennesse if they decide to deal the #3 pick. |

Yea, I guess it will depend on who they hire as an O coordinator and what their offensive philosophy will be. |
