Default Htown34s mock draft

Nothing better this time of year than submitting your own mock!

While I'd love to draft VY, if that isn't going to happen then I'd like to trade down. D'Brick is impressing everyone at the Senior Bowl practices already. I have us trading our #1 to the Jets for their #1 and their #2 this year and next.

1st (#4): D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT-Virginia 6-6/297
Having no problems with the best DE's in the country at the Senior Bowl practice.

2nd (#33): Alan Zemaitis CB-Penn St 6-2/205
Tall CB who is still fluid in motion, hard worker, big tackler, great ball reaction skills. 10 passes defended and 6 INTs in 2005.

2nd (#36): Daryn Colledge OG-Boise St. 6-4/295
Extremely athletic, durable blocker who excels at both run & pass. Could be a tackle or guard in the NFL.

3rd (#63): Eric Henderson DE-Georgia Tech 6-2/265
Physical, instinctive player who can both speed rush or shed blocks. Injuries during the year drop him to this round.

3rd (#64): David Thomas TE-Texas 6-3/247
Instinctive playmaker who could use more bulk, more of a receiving TE but does well working in blocking schemes. Great hands and route-running.

4th: Julian Jenkins DE-Stanford 6-4/270
Agressive pass rusher who can makes a lot of solo tackles and often disrupts the backfield.

5th: Dwayne Slay S-Texas Tech 6-3/210
One of the hardest hitting safeties around, forces a lot of fumbles. Has the speed to cover.

6th: Michael Toudouze OT-TCU 6-6/310
The best player on the best line in the MWC

7th: Bristol Olomua TE-Texas Tech 6-5/236
Best TE prospect at TT in years, injured for rest of the season during UT game.

If you told me last year that we'd get the best OT in the draft as well as 4 other picks in the top 64 I'd be happy as heck.

We would be very intimidating in our DB's, get a few DE's to help the transition to a 4-3, get a very active and playmaking TE, 2 new starters on the OL, and a few backups.

good mock.

they get ferguson, zemaitis is a good corner that could start along with dunta, they get offensive line help in the middle rounds along with at tight end in the 3rd. dwayne slay is a steal in the 5th.

Other than picking a TE later than I would like (Thomas is a FAIR pick though), this mock looks pretty good.

Why not Rocky McIntosh over Julian Jenkins, and if we trade down like you said grab a guy like Mario Willams who will anchor our D-line and go with Winston, Winston Justice, or Jon Scott along with Zema in the second or trade back in and get one of the linemen in the first.

I think that the Texans could get more for that pick, just look at the deal NY did for Manning and I think that the top pick this year is more valuable than that one, with the possibility of drafting VY RB or ML. They coulg get this years second and next years first.

And i think Thomas might fall to the 4th. Other than that I love it.

2nd (#33): Alan Zemaitis CB-Penn St 6-2/205
Tall CB who is still fluid in motion, hard worker, big tackler, great ball reaction skills. 10 passes defended and 6 INTs in 2005.

I believe he has the size & skills to be an exceptional NFL free safety, but too slow for island coverage.

Nice overall mock. But im taking Davin Joseph or Gilles over a CB in the 2nd.

Good CB's can be found in later rounds. Like Vasher, Poole, Samuel, McGee, and Manning Jr.

I think the most talented guards will be gone by round 2.

If we were going to take a CB in the 2nd round, I'd rather us take Antonio Cromartie.

Default If not the Jets

Awesome mock draft the only thing I might add is not going with OT in the first. With the depth at that posotion, maybe waiting a little later might be wise especially if the deal is more of a mid first rounder. The only problem with your TE is I think the Texans need more of a burner at that posoiton. Two names to throwout... for a first rounder UCLA Mercedes Lewis, I think that's the name, seems to be haveing a very solid senior bowl practice... for a third maybe out the guy from Notre Dame, I am not even going to guess his name. Sweet user name by the way.
