The Miami Dolphins are expected to name former Houston Texans head coach Dom Capers as their new defensive coordinator, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported.

Richard Smith and Will Muschamp essentially served as the unit's co-coordinators in 2005. Smith had the title of defensive coordinator, while Muschamp's title Assistant Head Coach/Defense. .....................

Dom Capers in football is a good thing. Unfortunately it did not work out here. Best of luck to Coach Capers.

Houston plays Miami next year. his 3-4 ought to look a lot better than ours was.

Congrats to Dom! This is what he should be doing. He is not a good HC, but has always had very good agressive D's when he has been a DC.

I never wished anything bad to happen on him. We just needed a new regime change around here.

Good to hear. Dom is where he should be (DC). So many of the retreads are not being picked up this off season, good to see he has found his niche in Miami.

I didn't think anyone in the NFL would want him after this fiasco, but I think he'll be a really good DC once again.

He is on the HC treadmill in a few years he will be asked to be a HC again.

I expect Coach Capers will be warmly welcomed back to Reliant. I know people were screaming for his head but I also know that almost every fan knows he is a fine person and it just didn't work out here for whatever reason. Sometimes that happens.
