In your opinion, how many points do you think a Pro NFL team needs to put up, to be succesful.
What score should a succesful NFL defense hold an offense to??

i think that for an nfl team to win, they absolutely have to put up at least 1 more point than the other team.

I've got an oversimplified methid of analyzing an NFL team. I call it the 21 point system. Your offense should score more than 21 points, and your defense should be able to hold the opposing team under 21 points. So if the final is 24-12, then your team played well on both sides of the ball(that is if you're on the team that scored the 24 points). Of course, if you were on the loosing end of that score, you played pretty badly on both sides.
It's just the way I look at football, and wonder if anyone else had similar systems.

ON both teams, I would want to work on the offensive side of the ball.. Regardless of their playoff status, with my 21point systems, we'd say that these teams are week offensively... which agrees with every NFL analysis I've heard of these teams

Really can't make an accurate analysis using that system. Just a couple of examples, there's many more: the Texans over the Steelers 24-6 in 2002. Your system says the Texans D played great, which of course, it did, and that the offense played above average. Certainly not the case at all. And this year when Minnesota beat the Giants 24-21. According to your system, the Vikes played above average on offense when reality is they had 137 yards total offense and only scored 3 points. Other things besides turnovers factor into things as well, like weather conditions.
You just have to look at each game seperately. I don't think there's a universal measuring stick you can use.
