Two interesting articles from today. If McNair spends for coordinators for Kubiak, this could be a fun season. Also talk of either Reeves or Casserly must go. I'll take Casserly to go please.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...z/3594223.html McNair says it will take a but for the #1 to be decided http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/3594262.html |

John "I voted for Reggie Bush before I voted against him" McClain is making me sick. Instead of basing reasons the Texans should draft Vince Young on his talent to make is argument legitimate, he says that once VY talks to Kubiak and tells him how much he wants to come home, blah blah, blah, blah. His reasoning is ridiculous. I know he's not discounting Young's talent (because he has gone on and on about it). But I wish he would quit using the "Hometown Hero" syndrom to explain why he thinks that VY should be drafted first.
And now, he's trying to appease Aggies and Longhorns. He's getting more and more like John Kerry everyday.

If they get Mike Sherman as the offensive coordinator, I'll be surprised. The folks in Green Bay thought he was railroaded. Look for him to get hired as HC by someone, and if he doesn't, if McNair wants him bad enough, he'll have to fork up HC type bucks.
BTW, I'm hearing that Dan Snyder ticked off a boatload of owners by paying Greg Williams all that money just to stay as the Redskins DC. The going rate for coordinators skyrocketed because of that, and the owners are NOT happy. There's a link to that somewhere. If someone asks, I'll try to find it. |

I was listening to them talk about that this morning as well. I was hoping on Al Saunders but they did mention he was being looked and being heavily considered for coaching jobs. They said something to the effect of whether Sherman came here, since he doesn't run an offense anything near what Kubiak runs.....and Kubiaks offense would surely be fostered here in H-Town, that Sherman would have to subject himself to Kubiak's scheme. They were also speaking of Mike Martz and that he's always a possibility.
It's really comforting to see/read/hear that McNair is willing to do whatever necessary, $upplying and $upporting Kubiak'$ efforts to bring in the best $taff as long as the team is headed in the right direction.

Do people really watch NFL games and go "yea former Aggie, or yea former Longhorn!"? I am a Longhorn fan but loved Bucky Richardson when he played for the Oilers, I never looked at him as a former Aggie. (yeah, he was pretty lame at the NFL level but was fun to watch and cheer for). Maybe this is not the case for fans that are bigger college fans than NFL fans, who knows. |

No, I think you are right. NFL team in most cases superceeds the college that they intended.

Sherman and Kubiak both coached at A&M, but I hope Kubiak brings someone in that shares his offensive philosophy instead of trying to mold someone to his system. I think we saw enough of that with Capers and Palmer.

The idea that the Texans have to pick Vince Young because of the money that McNair will make is bogus. No NFL owner is hurting for money because of the revenue sharing program and the giant TV deals that the league gets.
The Texans will sell out games regardless of who is on the team if they are winning games. It wouldn't matter if Vince Young is the QB or Tony Banks. Winning teams are bigger than hometown heros. Even Roger Clemens couldn't sell out games earlier this season when the Astros were one of the worst in the league. |
