I'm not sure why we'd franchise David Carr and pay him that much more for next year than what his current contract extension would be, and I can guarantee no one will give up a 2nd rounder for Dave Ragone, but that would be awesome if we could pull it off.

The only reason I could think of to franchise Carr would be if we had the intent of trading him and selecting a QB in the draft...

I'm not banking on Joppru to be on the active roster next season until he makes it through a training camp without getting hurt, which is why I think a TE on the first day is an absolute must.

i know its already been mentioned but i wanted to stress the fact that no team would trade anything close to 2nd round for ragone or a 3rd rounder for morency.

we could trade DC, DD, AJ to NO for their #2 pick then draft VY & RB then go sign TO and we still have the rest of the draft and FA

I think a team my trade a 3rd for Morency, but the most we could get for Ragone would be something like a 6th or possibly a conditional 6th that turns into a 4th or 5th with playing time (which is still a 6th LOL).

Best hope for Ragone would be a 6th, more likely a 7th if anything, and Morency would maybe get a 4th but since he played so little this year I doubt he gets a 3rd.

I hope this is a joke, let's trade Carr ($8 million cap hit), Davis ($6 million cap hit), and AJ ($7 million cap hit) to the Saints and get Vince, Reggie, and Terrell Owens to replace them, so we have a total $21 million in dead money, $100 million combined going to Vince Young who will take 2 years to develop into a decent QB on a normal team and much more on this team if we make those kinds of moves and on Reggie Bush who is faster than Davis but not likely to be any more durable. Then our offense is in the hands of two rookies, and we bring in a living cancer in Terrell Owens to be our only WR (about even with AJ's on-field talent anyways, probably a little better but also older) so Vince has no one else to throw to and about the same roster that we have this year which will hold back on his development even more. At least next year we'd be drafting at #1 again and we could bring in Adrian Peterson to split carries with Bush and we can ignore our problems yet another year.
