Who To Coach The Youngsters?

Ok, if we get Kubiak to be the head coach ... who will the coordinators be?

Mike Singletary for defensive coordinator would seem interesting to me, because of the way he played the game. If he could teach how to harness that intensity, or just rub off a little bit of it on some of the young guys, it might have a chance to work.

If I had the choice I would also see if Bruce Matthews would consider being O-line coach. Someone with that much talent at every position on the O-line would be a great tutor to these guys and whoever we bring in. Teach them the proper techniques and philosophy to get them over the hump.

Not sure about offensive coordinator because Kubiak has his own system. Sure he would just bring in someone he is comfortable with

That's what I've heard, and that would be awesome, IMO...The problem is that if either of them is undercontract, they won't be allowed to make a lateral move to coordinator for us...I'm not sure of Saunders' contract status and last I had heard, Gray had resigned from the Bills, but there has been speculation that he never did...Personally, I'd love to see Gray as DC and Russ Grimm as OC...

Well if we did that I would want us to hire some under studies under those coordinators because they will be snatched up probably next season.

Been hearing that Russ Grimm is going to Detroit to be HC. Millen's gotta wait for Pittsburgh to lose, though...

Probably the best coaching staff we could have hoped for. I would see good improvement in 06 and major improvement by 07. Fingers and toes crossed it happens.

Not that it really means anything, but I thought that I heard earlier today that Saunders will likely be the next HC w/ Raiders b/c Al Davis really likes him. Will be interesting to watch.

Unfortunately with that coaching staff, we might have the problem that one of the coordinators becomes a HC in the '07 season. They would help this season, but it could possibly be a quick change next year.

I thought I heard taht Kubiak might bring his current OL coach with him as OC.
I'm pretty sure that Shannahan gave his permission for Kubiak to take him if he moved him up to OC.
No source, just something I remember hearing.

I would like to have the D-coordinator of the Bears. (he will probably end up with a head coaching job)

They have a sick defense. But more importantly they are very very young. My bet would be if he doesn't get a head coaching job he stays with the Bears. Moving to our team would be a latteral move or a step down.

Although Phillips may be looked at as a HC somewhere.
