This does not seem to get talked about a lot. The Texans intend to exercise Carr’s option, but what does he intend to do or better yet…what would be best for Carr? Carr has an opportunity to stay and prove a lot of folks wrong in a new system, but does the risk outweigh the reward? Right now you have local polls saying bring in VY, you have local sports writers saying bring in VY, you have local sports writers (whom you may have personal strong relationships with) saying bring VY home. (anti-VY people for just once please don’t get offended by fact). You may be confident you can turn things around, yet the VY debate will never go away. You will have to face VY at least twice a year if he becomes a Titan (once at home…uh boy). You could possibly be looking over your back and never fully win over the fans.
Or…you can get a change of scenery that’s possibly even closer to the west coast. You could play for a team that was not 2-14 last year. You could play for a team with an O-line already established and a system already in place for quick success. Most importantly, you would feel wanted and rightfully so. You could shut up critics pretty quickly here and everywhere else if you are truly confident in your abilities. I am personally on the fence as to whether Carr is damaged beyond repair. He is going to need to learn some things he has not been able to work on like looking off receivers, going through progressions, being a better leader, and such. A clean slate would allow for this to take place a lot sooner than as a Texan where the hill may not have a top. Carr has been on his back more that most porn stars these last 4 years and yet he rarely ever complained. His character has always been his #1 asset in my book, but if I was Carr I would want out. However, knowing what we know about him he would probably be stand up, compliment the Texans for their Texas pride towards VY, and give us all he had… |

Said he's willing to wait and see what the Texans want to do before he does anything. Texans have first dibs in his heart....where it matters most.

Carr will be a winning QB, with this franchise or the next. He has the tools - all he needs is a team to work with him. This team has done very little to allow him to develop, much less actually develop him.

Everyone is talking about VY and dismissing Carr or drafting bush, but what will happen with DD?

You say this thing or that about David Carr. Fact is most fans are ready to send him packing. He's about as charismatic as a styrofoam cup. I figure people will remember him for oh say, they won't remember him. This isn't a knock against his skill set or attitude or guts. If everyone had 'it', it wouldn't be it.

What tools? He can`t read defenses. Thats a big tool not to have! He misses WR`s who are wide open at times. Or he throws the ball too hard when it needs to have some air under the ball. How many times has he had his passes batted down at the line of scrimmage? When there is a defender in his face he panics instead of sliding to the right or left. I can go on and on. He reminds me of Tony Eason for the PATS back in the day. Always looking at the rush instead of the WR`s routes .He is at best a good backup some where else like Kitna is.

I am not ready to give up on Carr but I do think if the Texans do not "attempt" to beef up that O-line he should looks else where before he gets put in a wheelchair for good. Poor Guys gets to count stadium lights 5 times a game. Even Thiesman said it don't matter who is behind that line the Texans o-line will ruin him.
I wish Carr could speak his mind and let us know what he really thinks, but he is a good company man and totes the line. |

I bet it wasn`t in the 4th Q when the game was on the line. That doesn`t happen to often. There were a few close games this yr.

Actually he hit Corey Bradford right in the hands for the game winning touchdown at the end of the Jags game that was dropped. |
