How About this for a trade

New Orleans Saints Give Up

2nd overall pick

We Give Up

David Carr
Marcus Coleman

This works out great for both sides, the saints need a quarterback, we need Vince Young and Reggie Bush. All the people say they are tired of David Carr, so we could get Vince Young For fan base and tickets. We get Reggie Bush talent..

sounds like a plan, but instead of taking Bush, let's trade down for some players that we need. If we do need to get a RB, by all means, draft that great RB from USC...

Why would the Saints do this? I don't think Carr is worth the number two pick all by himself, and we know Coleman is not any good.

Of course we are talking about the Saints. They may be just stupid enough to do this. LOL!!

The Saints would get a good laugh out of that offer, not to mention it would be really bad for our salary cap.

Here's what we do. We take Vince Young with the number 1 pick. New Orleans takes Leinart. Tennessee won't take Bush with Henry and that guy that got leveled by Jason Simmons. They take a defensive player. We trade Carr to the Jets for their pick and we give up a couple other picks. Texans take Bush at #4. Texans end up with Young and Bush.

Can someone explain how the cap (or our cap situation) won't allow Young and Bush to be on the same team, but will allow Car and Bush?? How 'bout Peyton and Edge??

It would work but we'd be tappd out.

Contracts are usually not divided equally ovr the life of the contract. Example a 15 mil 3 year is more to the tune of 2mil in year 1, 5mil in year 2 and 8mil in year 3 as oppossed to 5/5/5. That's why you see cotracts either get redone before it's up or guys get cut/released cuz contracts are not guaranteed (besides signing bonuses I believe).

It could work early but by year 4 or 5 it'll be time to rework the contracts.

But we won't have a shot at th Saints' #2 pick anyway.

Because they both play the same position and you'd have a lot of cap money tied up on a bench player. Unless you use Young as a receiver??????

Teams are only allowed to spend so much each year. Whatever the contract is for that particular year for your players times the whole team needs to fall @ or under the cap. The cap is mandated by the NFL and it's the same for evryone.
