If McNair hires Scott Linehan (OC in Miami via MIN), there is a rumor in the Miami area that the Texans will trade Carr for Ricky Williams and a draft pick (2nd or 3rd rd pick).
Miami needs a solid QB and Linehan has been impressed with Rickey Williams, despite Ronnie Brown having a good rookie season. So, would you make that trade???

I'd do it. But I am definitely not McNair/Casserly.
I can't even come close to buying in to such a rumor. But it's a great thing to fantasize about. |

His user account was deleted for a racial remark along with other things...I wiped his account but the thread didn't survive. Mikemc has some thread somewhere on this topic.

I wish that rumor was true and we made that trade.

Wow Vinny, we're on the same page. Great picture.
That trade would be great and I'll just file it under speculation.

Too many angles to look at this one from. First, what would we do for a QB? If Young declares, great we take him and trade Carr and we then have Young at QB and Ricky at RB. Second, how would this affect our cap? Third, I read somewhere a week or so ago, on foxsports.com rumor mill I believe, that Ricky is willing to play for league minimum, if that is the case sure I'd go for it. Just too many different ways to look at this and the upcoming draft and new coaches coming in make it all the more difficult and interesting to speculate.

wont we take a big cap hit if we sign carr and then trade him? trade sounds good, but sounds more like wishful thinking.:brickwall

And you would start a rookie QB? So you are thinking he'd be an impact player right away. I would tend to think that starting a rookie QB is the wrong thing to do. So if you wait and season VY then who starts? Banks? VY gets to learn from Banks and Ragone? I don't care for that either. If we site VY to season his skills, Ricky aint getting any younger. There's this strange Longhornism going on around here. What's next, we trade with Chicago to get Benson and give them Carr? Reunited and it feels so good.......

That is an interesting rumor I would like to see another of my Horns back in Texas. Ricky as a Texan sweet. Then bring in Vincent OMG Lets do it. This would ease my anger after them passing on Derreck Johnson.
Later.................... Pscooter21....................

SES, yes you start V. Young as a rookie you did it with Carr and we have better weapons now. We also should have better linemen provided CC doesn't go crazy wit the rest of the picks and focuses on OL.

Vinny.....how dare you give allegience to the horns...and you claim to be a Coog!!!!
- Growl Towels BABY!Well, just because a player (QB) sits a year, does not mean they are learning from the other QBs. I'm sure Banks can teach a young QB a few things about the NFL...he does have some great experience, and who was it that won a few of the Texans games back in the "early" years??? If a HC like Linehan came in, he might be doing the "tutoring" of a young QB. OR if a QB Guru like Kubiak comes in, he might be doing the coaching, not Banks or Ragone. Neat connection though, Linehan coached Ragone back in the Louisville days.....so who know what will happen. The key for any young QB is trusting the OC, HC, QBCoach...and he does trust/respect Linehan. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2280608
