We all know that the Texans have the #1 selection.
What we don't know is if Reggie Bush and Vince Young will delcare for the Draft. Let's just assume that they do ? You are the Man who makes the final decision on draft day...what would you do. Now...let's assume that both Bush and Young stay in school. Now what would you do ?

If both are on the board, well discounting the thought of "take the best player", Casserly's job would be safer a little longer with Vince as the pick. However in the end, panning out as the best player is the only way Casserly would survive anyway. |

Well, It might be insane to say this, but clearly there is a need for help at Offensive line...
D'Brickashaw Ferguson ? Trade down, but how far ?

A few spots. I only want Brick though if they think he's Gallery level or better. No reaching just because we have a problem.

For me, it all depends on Bush and Young, and the decisions they make.
If they both stay in school, then i'd have to consider trading down, and if for some reason nothing spectacular comes along, then i'd take Ferguson (but that's just me) If Both come out for the draft, i'd have to take Reggie bush, unless a sweet deal comes along. I just can't see the texans taking a QB #1 when they still have David Carr.

Trade down, in both scenarios.

This is precombine, but from what i have seen no Otackle desearves a top pick let alone a top 3 pick. I would trade down to 5 to 7 and maybe go after an AJ Hawk or other defensive player and then look for a guard or slipped tackle in round 2.

2. Neither declare: Listen to all trade offers, try to trade down if I can get something reasonably good for the pick. Take a LT. Not sold on which one yet. |

Both declare: Package David Carr and Dominick Davis and trade to the Saints, who need a QB and Davis is from Louisiana........... get their 1st round and maybe a second or third round. Select VY first and Bush second. Select a LT with the other pick.
Niether declare: Matt Lienart is the same type of QB as David Carr and less mobile with less of an arm. In this situation Id keep Carr, again trade with New Orleans or the Jets, and select a LT and a linebacker with the picks received. |

2nd choice: If no suitable trades are found, draft Bush. (I think many good trades will be offered, the definition of suitable is relative to how highly they view Bush and how much they think he can bring to the team) |

Nothing wrong with Reggie, Vince, or trade down for D'Brick.
But thats the million dollar question right? i'll trade down, take a #1 pick next year, get D'Brick. Here is my picks. http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zon...452#post249452

So, I am assuming that most of you would trade down if it was your choice, but, how low would you go....
Maybe drop down to #3 and Take D'Brick.... If you were offered a drop to #3 and the team's 2nd or 3rd rounder ?

Trade down..trade down..trade down. As much as I'd like to have Vince and Bush, QB and HB are not where our gaping holes are at.

Well our pick this year has substantially more value then the last few years. I've heard people reporting it possible for us to get more then 2 first rounders for it. For argument's sake, I'm going to have us trading down for a minimum of a first, a second, and a third with the packers or jets.
First Round - Mario Williams to address hole made in defense by shift to the 4-3 Second Round pick 1 - Winston Justice or Jonathan Scott, solidify RT, possibly compete for LT, though Pitts may be our answer there. Second Round Pick 2 - Address our secondary concerns. Hopefully Bing falls this far, otherwise Jason Allen S Third Round Pick 1 - Grab the best TE remaining, can't take another chance on Joppru snapping his groin Third Round Pick 2 - Best Linebacker available, last year proved we could use more depth at the spot Essentially by trading the rights to Bush, Leinart, Young, I think bare minimum we could get a DE playmaker that draws comparisons to Julius Peppers, a solid S in Bing or Jason Allen to help our secondary, and a LB for depth that could challenge for a starting spot. |
