Looks good, but with the way that Boller has played the last few weeks of the season, the ravens would be wasting their first round pick.

Ok I guess I will comment when your third one comes out before the combine and after the All-star games right. This one is much better than the last though, and I do mean much better.

Why would the Saints take Bush? They have Deuce McAllister and have already said they are unhappy with Aaron Brooks and obviously Bouman doesn't factor into any long-term plans, so why would they not take Leinart? Like I had said before with Bush, I don't really see the point of us taking Vince Young either (at least Bush I could admit might be a slight improvement over Davis, but I don't see Young being an improvement over Carr at all), and if Vince comes out I think we could get such a big deal for trading out of the top 3 and use those picks to grab some OLine and defensive help, I don't see us passing up that opportunity if it presents itself, and if for some reason a good enough trade is not offered, I see us still taking Bush over Vince, at least Bush can split time at WR and RB and is not locked in at a certain position behind our franchise player.

The bolded picks are the ones I dissagree with. For starters, the Saints are in the same boat we are with DD and Reggie, except Deuce has a bigger contract, I expect them to go after Vince or Matt. Reuben Droughnuns became the first Brown to go over 1000 yds in a long time, he isnt great, but they have much bigger needs then RB, he is probably their second best player behind Andra Davis. The Pats just drafter a Guard with their first pick last year, I believe his name is Mankins(?), after all the injuries and players getting older, the Pats are going to use this pick on their secondary, either CB or S. The Broncos have some very good D-linemen with the remergence of Brown, Myers, Warren and Pryce. I dought they pick up Hali here, unless they plan to develop him for later? The Jags have a top 5 pass D and their offense is still not that great. After consecutive season where Taylor is hurt, I expect them to go after a RB. Finnally, the Broncos have a history of gettting late round steals on the O-line. they have one 1st rounder and they have a proven system, I doubt they go O-line here.

I definitely not sure why the saints would take bush other than marketing reasons. Which I think a qb is better served for.

I assume J williams as an option for Tenn is a typo b/c that's just not happening at 3.

In fact I think HUFF has cemented himself there for now as the #1 DB to be taken.

I'm not sure even though everyone keeps saying this that the Pack will take AJ Hawk. I think Favre needs some OFFENSIVE playmakers and very well could stick there head in the Bush Saga if it appears we might take Young.

I think the browns will go D but a RB there wouldn't suprise me. They need a playmaker there as well and Rube is nice but he's not going to break it open.

Ok. I will take the time to make some comments. First of all, I am unsure of the whole Vince Young thing, so I will refrain from saying anything until I have really thought about it.

Secondly, I want to congratulate you for the brilliant Reggie to the Saints pick. I know many people have already commented that the saints are in a similar situation to us in terms of Deuce and DD. However, it shows you have done your homework here as you have correctly seen that Deuce is a POWER back and DD is a smaller nimbler back. Since Bush is clealry a nimble back, he would COMPLIMENT the Saints the way that The Bus and Parker do in Pittsburgh. DD and Bush are similar types of backs. For that insight alone BeerLover, you desearve a Shiner! Bravo!

As far as Leinart, I see where you are going with Oline or Defense, but can Fisher passup on Matt Leinart? Leinart and Chow were together at USC and we know how well they did there. Since Chow knows Leinart, he would be able to create an excellent scheme for him that would capitalize on his strengths and hide his weaknesses.

I like the Deangelo going to the Cardinals pick. They did pick Aarington last year and have Macel Shipp but lets face it: their running game absolutly sucks. With Deangelo, I can see them actually running the football more efficently.

I know you are high on Pope, but I wonder if we need to work on our Defense a lit more. Perhaps Bobby Carpenter, Cedric Griffin, or maybe even an Elvis D come to mind. What are your thoughts on these guys?

One other thing, you have alot of Oliners going in the first round.
Dbrick, Justice, Winston, Scott, Joseph, O'Callahan, McNeil, and Gilles.
Thats 8 of 32 (25%) of the first round is Oline. That seems quite high to me. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Oline heavy first?

Leinert goes top 3. NO WAY does anyone but VY and/or Bush go in front of him.

The guy was overshadowed by VY's RUNNING - not his passing.

He was 29 of 40 and had around a hundred more yards in the air (vs VY's 30 of 40). He was on target. He HAD to be - because UT's secondary was playing great.

I know VY and Bush have more potential - to be something special. But, Leinert is more of a sure thing - a solid above average winning qb.

I think NO would have to take Leinert at 2 - even if there are people in the organization saying Bush is better, there is no denying that Leinert will be an exceptional qb and that they have a gaping hole that could be filled by an exceptional qb.

I think Buff goes with an OT - they need one bad. But, Huff, even though he is a safety, won't slip past Baltimore at 12 (their secondary will be scary with Reed and Huff at the S spots).
Greenway should go higher than 28.
I don't see Hali - he has been projected to go in the 9-15 range in most recent mocks I have seen.

Concerning Pope & those that know his abilities can you imagine the combination of Pope & Young? they could run a pick and roll all day until the other options are so wide open there would be no stopping this offense. so the temptation was too much for me to overlook, I would not take Pope this high without Vince Young, Carr has yet to figure out how to use a TE.

Dumervil came close going to the Seahawks but Darryl Tapp is just a better DE prospect in my opinion. Carpenter & Griffen are probably 2nd rounders.

From researching the draft its a above average year for Offensive Linemen, Offensive Guards & Centers so this is why its weighted so high, not to mention the addition of underclassman. I let McNeil slide because of some back issues, while Jonathan Scott & Winston Justice moved up with their outstanding Rose Bowl performances. However if another blue chip underclassman declares its possible Davin, Gilles or McNeil could slide to the 2nd round.

Thanks for the kind words

this coming from someone who has Claude Wroten going #22 to the Denver Broncos, did he not just get arrested for possession of pot?

GBN- LSU DT Claude Wroten, a solid first-day prospect for the 2006 draft, was arrested earlier this week on a drug charge after police stopped him for speeding and found marijuana in his car. Wroten was booked for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and was released on $3,000 bond. Not a real smart move for a kid who had a chance to be an early-to-mid second round pick this coming April.

Guess what? Tatum Bell is a smaller, faster back that compliments the Denver running game very well and he was a second round pick. You dont want to pay a COMPLIMENTARY back $40M.

I would like that too, it would mean we never have to worry about the Ravens passing attack whenver we play them. The Ravens need someone who will take care of the ball and not make mistakes, in other words, not Marcus Vick...

agreed, vick is the farthest from the perfect fit the the ravens. I can see them selecting Cutler in the second.
