First time poster! First off, I know it's premature, especially since we don't have a coach or haven't even drafted the player in question, but how do you think Bush will be utilized if he is indeed the player we take with our first pick? For example: Will he share time with DD? Will he line up as a WR? How many touches would you expect to see him get in a game?
My next question is what would everyone's expectation of him be? For example, how many yards and TD's would you expect him to get in his first season? The main reason I ask these questions is to just get everyone's idea on how drafting Bush will make us a better team and what everyone would expect him to do to be considered a success in his first year. |

Walk on water, cure the sick and infirm and raise the dead. Given that we have a retractable roof stadium, prolly the curative powers versus the water walking would be the most handy for the Texans. Welcome to the MB. Sorry about the goofy answer, but I have no idea what sort of performance would be suitable for a rookie coming in with this much hype. Maybe a true waiting list for PSLs??? It would be the easiest quickest measure. Usually it take some years to see the value of a draft pick. Some argue it takes 5 years to evaluate the benefit of a draft. |

Last year after the draft I had brought up the point that the Texans management had over looked the importance of filling seats & creating a local buzz by passing on a Texas football icon in Derrick Johnson
regardless how he would be used in the 3-4. Bush is all about selling Texans product and hopefully fielding a winning team at the same time. I know if he becomes a Texan I will buy his jersey as will alot of other fans, right into the playoff's

Bush will be the primary RB with Davis being his backup and possible 3rd down back. But I see alot of scenarios where Bush will be split wide, in motion, in the slot, etc. He's so versatile, I see him in the Tomlinson mold but better.

I see Bush getting about 1300 rushing yards and 700 receiving yards a year if he goes to a team that has a good all-round offense that will use him as their primary RB and a competent OC that will use him well, not to mention a decent defense that can get off the field. If he comes here and is used as our primary RB, I honestly don't see him getting better than about 900-1000 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards.

And if all we need from him to make the play-offs is 900 yards rushing and 400 passing, then so be it. He had similar stats to that at SC last year.( They won the National Title)

I expect reggie Bush to put up Warrick Dunn like numbers. 978 rushing 462 receiving and 7tds. That may be high, but that is what I expect. And reggie will not give Carr more time unless they do the exact opposite of what you guys want him for and leave him in to block.

In my opinion the only way to use Bush is to trade for offensive linemen. That's the only way Carr will have time to actually look for a reciever and maybe open the running game up a bit.
