Default Could the Texans be looking at Gregg Williams?

LINK

At least five teams, through intermediaries, have contacted Williams, the Redskins' assistant head coach-defense, about taking over their NFL franchise next season. Williams won't comment, "but so much for tampering laws, huh?" said one team official, on condition of anonymity.

Williams is a wanted man. He's gone? He's gone.

Now the hard question. Does he raid the pantry, too? Does Williams take Greg Blache and many from a defensive staff responsible for Washington being part of the playoff conversation again?

Williams will have his pick of the litter. Dick Vermeil may step down in Kansas City. Mike Martz isn't likely to come back in St. Louis. Williams grew up in Missouri. Those are two franchises with ready-made offenses, two teams that could contend with a defense like the one Williams built in Washington. The other possibility might be Houston, where Williams met his wife, Leigh Ann. He spent 10 years in the Oilers-Titans organization.

Well if Vermeil comes down, KC will probably throw all kinds of money his way because their defense just layed some bad eggs against Dallas. Keep in mind Gregg Williams D was pretty good still, he just had an old Bledsoe QB and an often injured RB in Travis Henry.

It would be awesome if Jeff Fisher became available to us and Williams became the D coordinator for us. That is a pretty good combination.

Well Frills I wont go that far because anything is possible at this time. I think they will be looking at a young, offensive minded coach, or that may just be a hope of mine. Phillips, Williams, and any slew of coaches have a chance at the job. I am wanting Kubiak, B. Shottenheimer, Singletery/Hoke, Marciano. That is my thought right now.
